Rodgers says NFC players "embarrassed themselves"

Aaron Rodgers of Green Bay Packers says NFC Pro Bowlers 'embarrassed themselves' - ESPN. He didn't name names, but he realized that the boos started early in the game. Since QB coach Tom Clements was calling the plays, I'm sure he knew when an NFC player didn't know the play. He called out "some of the guys on the NFC side" but both sides were taking it easy.

The one play that really stood out was in the first quarter. On a handoff to LeSean McCoy, he got the ball and all the offensive and defensive lineman just stood up and shuffled their feet. It was like a walk through drill in practice, and not a live play in pads. The boo birds were out afterwards.

On his second touchdown pass, Darrelle Revis was in coverage against Larry Fitzgerald. Revis overran the play and he didn't seem too interested in taking Fitzgerald on. But everything was much different in the second half, especially when Cam Newton was in the game. Revis in particular was in the face of every receiver, and he ended the day with two pass defenses.

I'm sure most people don't care, but it's interesting how Rodgers takes pride in what he does even when the results don't much matter.

I'm sure Rodgers was taking note how awful that oline was playing.

Instead of $50K to the winners and $25K to the losers, the pro bowl should be $100K to the winners, and the losers get nothing. Plus the NFL should start some sort of punishment to the guys that dodge it without injury. Or just make it a celebrity flag football game like the old rock and jock football games.

Why don't they just do the Superbowl in Hawaii every year and make the pro bowl a part of the hype? Then the players that get elected to the pro bowl essentially get free SB tickets? That might be cool. Sure as hell will beat playing the SB in NY in the snow next year.

    • I think Bryce balls out again and the Panthers win in a close one.  Panthers will have a defender shadow CMC the whole game so I expect he'll be contained to under 100 yards.
    • yeah, Steve was basically like on any actual topic that approached his flaws/problems.....89 went with the long winded, try to sound like a wise man strategy of just basically just pleading the 5th (and sprinkling in the idea that others could of been wrong or wrong too).   also, in terms of the assaults and stuff like that....it feels like old 89, I feel has sort of forgotten his well-documented confessions and apologies about that aspect and era of his and was trying to re-write his story/image in hindsight.   And in all honesty, it seemed like a PR move on the twitter/cheating stuff also attempting to play himself as not the bad guy some think with the intentional vague suggestions. and the Pivot and all these athlete moves to basically take the reigns and power from traditional outlets exposes they have just as bad as flaws if not more often than the traditional media folks.  I mean I do like the free form long talk when dudes are telling stories but all this stuff is largely flawed and controlled PR often.
    • Sadly, I agree and I’m a huge Melo fan. Might be time to ship him out. Don’t want to make the same mistakes the Pels did. They should’ve gotten rid of Zion two years ago.
