I'm on a boat

Departing at 0500 from the port in Long Beach. Getting here was several levels of hell thanks to an excruciating headache and an equally excruciating taxi ride through rush hour traffic upon arrival at LAX.

I traipsed up the gangway onto the ship where I was greeted by two Filipino crewmen. One checked me in and the other stared at me guitar case, asking if he could carry it for me. I obliged, and he strutted ahead of me, leading me to my cabin, pretending to play it and making guitar noises whenever he passed another crewman. I have been asked to play at their party in a couple days so I guess I'll be doing that.

In an hour I'll be off to Australia, hopefully with some semblance of a book upon my return. The best part us I'll be skipping the next month of boring newslessness... I get home two days after the start of free agency. Excellent.

For those interested I will post pictures when I arrive in Australia... no Internet access until then. Adios mofos

    • And you know this how? Stay in your lane, junior. I'm pretty sure I'm a lot older than you, am a whole lot more experienced with life, and have watched football in earnest probably longer than you've been alive. I agree, but I was talking directly about injuries. As far as the economics, I'm assuming that Moton would have to take a pay cut and would probably be compelled to if he wants to stay in Charlotte. He seems like a thoughtful and practical guy. He knows that he's getting older and realizes the nature of the business. Hell, last time there were were questions on whether he would be here the last season. Dan and Brandt were dialing up the pressure. I don't think they're going to go into any type of contractual extension discussions without having a backup plan--i.e., a person that will appear to be Moton's replacement. And, to be honest, that person may be Moton's replacement depending how things go. But, I get the impression that Moton wants to be in Charlotte (unless he's developed some undying desire to chase a championship somewhere else).
    • It would be pretty fun with something like this. 3 on 3 the first 5 minutes, 2 on 2 the next 5 minutes (after a stoppage), then 1 on 1 (after a stoppage) the rest of the way. I just feel like this would be equal parts entertaining and chaos to watch
    • I'm more surprised our odds to win the division didn't really improve that much after free agency (like +380 -> + 320). I threw a few hundred on us to win the division again at +425 back in February, just because I figured Atlanta and Tampa would get worse. After our free agency, I am still surprised Tampa is the favorite to win the division.
