American Idol 2012

I think its bullshit personally. He wasn't the worst singer in this competition. The girl in the pink dress who couldn't even hold her tune made it? She was horrible.

But I'm not surprised...as I said he's a unique R&B artist, and his style isn't really on the radio anymore. You don't hear singers like him or the guy who I've compared him too- Maxwell. The only stations you hear Maxwell's music on is the R&B oldies and goldies stations.

Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze, David Cook, and now we have Phillip Phillips. I will say that I think Phillip will be different, but I don't know. I still think Josh was the best vocalist left on the show. Id much rather have had a Josh-Jessica finale.

Now, on to what to do to fix the show (other than get rid of it).

1) Get rid of Randy. I think Randy should have left after Simon left. Once Simon was gone, there was no use for him. You have to start from scratch. He literally brings nothing to the table (not knocking his credentials, but hes a lost cause).

2) Break the Bank and hire Diddy. I know some of you (most of you) probably think hes an arrogant douche. But he is one guy with the personality, energy, AND credentials that can do this show. I'm telling you, he doesn't give a fug about anyone's feelings, and he knows what he is doing. Not to mention the awkward TV of sitting next to his ex- J.lo.

New Panel- Diddy- Music Producer/ Rapper/Mogul, honest critique ; J.Lo- Sexy 'singer'/dancer, look pretty and give critique sometimes, but not really; Steven- really old rock star who is crazy enough to make some interesting TV.

3) Create Diversity. I don't know if its the age requirement, only allowing solo artists, or the pre-judge audition screenings, but the talent is getting as stale as the show. I do think they are still getting talented people, but I think they need to mix it up a bit. Why not let a group in or something? idk, but they need to mix it up.

4) Make the judges more useful. I know its 'American Idol' and they want America to choose. But the Judges input should count. Give them a percentage of the vote. Also, how about 1 vote per household or something? Those teenaged girls are speed dialing or something. (note: I think the last time I voted for American Idol Fantasia won. You're Welcome)

I don't understand why there is so much dislike for Phillip. I know he wasn't the best vocalist but out of all he contestants, he was the the only person to take a song and made it sound original and made it feel like an actual concert and not a kaokee bar. Honestly, Josh was overrated and I am sorry, being a gospel singer and changing pitches doesn't do it for me.

There was no performance better this season, than his peformance of 'Man's World'. And what he did with the Bee Gees song was awesome as well. Its not all about his pitch changes. Dude can flat out sing.

But I knew Josh wasn't going to win, because singers the last singer like him to win was Fantasia in 2003. Same people aren't voting anymore.

I like Phillip and I do think hes the most 'original', but he wasn't the best singer.

Reasons to no longer watch:

Fantasia-Barrino-Performs-On-American-Idol-Finale-1-435x580.jpg

Hideous is the only way to describe the outfit and the "duet" where she and Josh Ledet both forgot the words and simply started howling and screaming at each other...

Jennifer Lopez may have performed and promoted herself more than any of the contestants... and she may have accidentally gotten into Fantasia's wardrobe with these "pants."

This cast sucks. As much as I dig Aerosmith, Steven Tyler simply calling everyone "over the top" week after week is boring. Randy Jackson is boring and tired, J-Lo already announced she won't be back.

Jumped the Shark

A metaphor that identifies the exact moment a TV show has reached its creative peak. Or to put it bluntly, it’s the beginning of the end of a once great show. The moment in which it becomes clear the writers are out of good ideas and the show has begun its decent downhill. It’s usually some ridiculous stunt, story line, major character change, or huge fundamental shift in the premise of the show that is viewed as nothing more than a desperate attempt to raise viewership and declining ratings.

"J.Lo is taking part in a heavily publicized tour with Enrique Iglesias (does he still sing?) and according to sources at eonline.com her “plate is too full”. Now, rumors are slowly making their way into the blogosphere that J.Lo is indeed quitting Idol because of her toy-boy Casper Smart and previous UK X-Factor judge Cheryl Cole might take her seat on the panel."

"Earlier this week on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Jennifer Lopez said she doesn’t know if she’ll return to “American Idol” next season. There are now multiple reports claiming she will in fact leave the Fox competition. A source told E! News that J-Lo is “just too busy” to continue with “Idol.” Similarly, an insider who spoke to Us Weekly said, “There is just too much going on for her right now.”

"Jennifer Lopez is leaving "American Idol" and taking her fabulous eye-candy fashion with her. Lopez will exit the judges' table at the end of this season, sources told E! Online's Marc Malkin exclusively. The star, it seems, has too much on her plate, what with her music, movies, fashion shoots and being the most powerful person in entertainment. (Seriously -- yesterday Forbes officially named her #1 on their Celebrity 100 List.)"

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
