Official 2012 Combine Prospect Thread

I do not see being 6'5-6'7 as a huge strength from that position, I think he is a 5 tech. kinda guy, who could demand a double team... but at #9, and being raw, you are drafting on what he COULD be, not what he is.. take Decastro, you know what he is... a 10 year starter in the pro-bowl from Stanford. Dude was perfect at the combine, would be a top 5 pick if he was an OT, at #9 he will be BPA.

I think having a DT that big and athletic only helps our linebacking core. Think about Ray Lewis' best years as a Raven. They came when he had big DTs up front, handling the gaurds and center. With Brockers, Beason could really go beyond even what we've seen so far.:sifone:

Perhaps... But I've seen more worthless picks wasted on LSU and Miami DT's then from anywhere else... and at #9, I think you want to know what you are getting..... I think Decastro is the perfect choice given the depth of CB.

There's no doubt that DeCastro is the best lineman after Kalil. Yet we may need to roll the dice on defense here, because our offense was good last year. They should get better next year with a year of experience under their belt. So we should improve even without DeCastro.

Ultimately with everything in laid out in front of us, Brockers may be the best call with the 9th pick. He could potentially lift the defensive side of the ball the way Cam did the offense this past season.

When does Potential override for sure? Not arguing, just wondering, because you make a great point.. but at #9 I want to be for sure... at 40, I think we can still get a top 5 DT or CB if thats where we want to go.. Keep FA in mind.

Also, I understand we have 2 starters coming off of IR, but our G play needs to be better next year, especially if we are protecting our franchise, so OL needs to be a sure thing, and that is what Decastro provides, a sure thing.

Just as far as the combine measurables go:

Kalil is top dog, 10 year all pro

Cordy Glenn getting Otah comparisons, really helped himself

Mike Adams might have fallen out of the first round with his poor strength and speed

Schwartz looks as slow as a mule. late rounder at best.

TE's all have flaws, pretty much hate em all.

I dont really care about a OL 40 yard time, but I do care about that 10 yard split, and their hand explosion.

Was not defending Schwartz here, I have not spent time watching him specifically yet, but I am assuming like Mayock and Charles said, he wins ugly. :) I hope he is there in the 5th/6th, would be good pick up.
