Dont count out Ingram as the Panthers first pick

I would not count out Ingram if our objective is to get more pressure on the qb.If we pass I would not count out Curry in the 2nd.

I think he is one of the more interesting prospects in the draft. He has lined up as DE,DT and Outside lb.

Shhhhhhhhh man don't say that too loudly the Brockers lovers might hear you lol, no but seriously I took him in round 1 on my mock draft and the huddlers went crazy I would love to have him we really need to improve our pass rush and he in my opinion would be special in our defense of course I think he starts over hardy and could be lined up anywhere on passing situations and actually be affective. Sean Spence in the 2nd rd would be interesting as well

i wouldn't hate it.

i think he compares to charles johnson.

Ditto. He's a freak athlete, a little undersized. But has experience at DE, DT, and LB. Sounds like he could help out in alot of different defensive packages.

I think Upshaw would be a better pick at 9. If we traded down, I like Ingram... but I still like OL help better in a trade down.

Where would Upshaw(being a 3-4 OLB) fit into our defense? Just curious.

Upshaw is listed as a 3-4 OLB, but if you look, has the same size as Ingram. He would be used a lot like Applewhite is used, And can bump hardy inside on passing downs more often, you can stand him up in you're 3-4 looks and keep Applewhite's hand in the ground. He would be used just like Ingram would be used, but he is better than Ingram.

I think that they are both tweeners, but Ingram has the advantage of playing defensive tackle, and defensive end and excelling at it. Upshaw was always been more of a rush linebacker for Bama.

I freakin love Upshaw though, I've been wanting him since like 09' but now I realize he's a 3-4 rush LB. I wouldn't hate the pick though, I would trust that Rivera could turn him into a great defensive player. It just seems very risky for a top ten pick.

If you watched the senior bowl, they were both playing with their hand in the ground.. Not too many Rush outside LB's weigh in the 270 range. Trust me, anything Ingram can do at the next level so can Upshaw.. They are both 6'2" and weighed in 4 lbs apart at the senior bowl, they can both move inside if necessary, but I think if you move Johnson inside, Upshaw takes his place at DE on those downs. Trust me, with that dude, we'd find a spot.

I don't see too much of an upgrade over Hardy honestly with Ingram. Coples could be really good in the NFL or end up a bouncer at a strip club. The guy is a big risk. Much like the DT's of this year i don't see the real deal at DE. Love Upshaws potential in a 3-4 but taking him to play him in a 4-3 is kinda goofy. He has the will and determination that he would likely be pretty good where ever you put him but it would be a disservice to his talent. SO... i also like the DE rotation we have. Hardy, Keiser, CJ and coach favorites Applewhite and newly acquired Tucker are a good start going into camp. Hate to tell you guys but i do not see Dline being a priority this off season.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
