Pacers at Bobcats

Is it as painfully obvious to everyone else as it is to me, just how disinterested Boris Diaw plays? As pathetic as it would be, if you DVR'ed the game tonight, go back and watch just Diaw during the game. On offense, he will stand at the top of the key looking to hand off, set a half-screen, and then will stand there and watch the jump shot. He won't crash the boards, nothing. I mean, stuff a high school kid would get benched over.

It's sad that he gets minutes when he could give a rats ass about being on the court. If we're going to lose every game anyway, put a less talented but hungrier player in the game. It's got to frustrate Silas to no end watching Boris' effort.

And in a contract year of all things - total mind fug.

trade Diaw, trade Tyrus Thomas, see if Augustine elicits any sort of attention

Rebuild around Kemba, Bismack, and Hendo (keep Reggie Evans and Byron Mullens for depth)

seriously there is absolutely no point in trying any more this season. Stock pile draft picks and hope for the best

You're not kidding. He's been mailing it in for a while now. From what I saw tonight he was mainly cherry-picking, and when he did chuck up a 3 he was short-arming it and jogging back up the court after he missed. For a team with so many young, promising players it's a shame to see an experienced player so aloof about everything.

This implies that they were trying to begin with. Management knew what they were getting into and the message of "tanking" should have been made loud and clear to fans when Boris Diaw trotted out onto the floor to start the season at center.

It's a shame, because the second D-Wade somehow banked in that contested layup to complete the Bobcats' choke-job in game 2, the momentum, youthful energy, etc. was sucked out of this team.

I really like your plan for Phase 3 of Bobcats de-construction, the question is, will other teams take on anybody from this roster?

Biyombo is really showing the reason he was drafted so high.

He is crazy long and athletic and seems to be taking to what he is being taught..soaking up knowledge like a sponge. Give this kid an offseason, a summer league perhaps, and he should continue his rapid development.

If we don't trade DJ now I'm afraid he will just walk for nothing at the end of the season.

He is a restricted FA, so the option to match any contract is there. I think he is definitely available for the right price, but I dont know how many teams would be willing to overpay a bit to sign him away.

Agree with what others have said about Biyombo. He has already shown so much more potential than a lot of rookie big men (ol' Alexi Ajinca comes to mind) and every around him has good things to say about his work ethic.

I want to go see a game at some point this year just to see all the young guys. I was thinking about the Minnesota game, a chance to see Rubio, Love and the rest of their surprisingly fun team and the tickets should still be cheap

Comparing any big man to Alexi "The French Pastry" Ajinca is an insult to all other big men. That guys had no business being drafted at all...neverless the 1st round.

    • I do think the rating is fair given how this unit hasn’t proven it with production. I understand you have to rank off production, not potential. However, our unit is also in a position to make this rating look foolish a year from now. We have 4 guys in the WR/TE room who all could legitimately take the next step this year, and catapult our rank. A guy under a lot of people’s radar after we took Tet, Jalen Coker. Mark my words, he will become the star of this room, and be the heir to Thielen.
    • Exactly. You’d think 2-7 wins a year (in a 17 game season no less) since 2017 is going to keep us bottom tier. Every year we say the same poo like we haven’t been a bad team the past 7 years. Until we prove we aren’t a bottom dweller, that’s where we’ll stay ranked. God forbid we have OL injuries like 2016.
    • What I love and hate about this team is it’s more filled with potential breakout players than ever before. JT, XL, Coker, Smith-Wade, Ikem, Trevin… and even Bryce are all guys I could legitimately see taking the next step. But the problem with having so many of those guys is that team success somewhat relies on them taking that step, and some are bound not to. That being said, I’m cautiously optimistic given our softer schedule, the way the offense clicked late last year, and the direction we finally have at GM, coach, and QB. Could see us as a sneaky playoff team.
