Cam, Luck and RG3's 40 yard Dashes Compared

Have you watched him play?

You are describing Newton at auburn to a T and saying it's why another guy won't be successful.

I did watch him.

There are questions about him as a passer. Him needing to answer them doesn't mean he can't do it......but there are unknowns.

The only people who said Newton couldn't make NFL throws were people who didn't watch every game. Even Rivera said, during evaluation while watching EVERY throw from his time at Auburn, that Cam could make all of the throws.

RGIII is good. I don't know that he'll be as successful as Cam, but I think he'll at least be considered a solid starter, if only for impressive speed and arm strength. Of course, that is just me giving a broad, generic answer, as I've only seen two Baylor games with RGIII as the QB.

RG III is just too damn small for his athleticism to make a difference. One clean shot, by even the smallest NFL DB and he'll be carried off on a stretcher. With Cam Newton, defensive players just pray he doesn't cross into their zone because they dont want to be the one to look stupid trying to tackle him. RG III has some talent, no doubt, but he's built more like dry wall, where as Cam is made of the material you build nuclear fallout shelters with.

Last season when Cam took off and ran...how many times did he have a chance to get that kind of speed up? once?

Speed is nice, but not so necessary for a QB.

I was going to give you a hard time about speed not being a neccessity. But, the more I thought about it, the harder it became to disagree with you.

For Cameron, he has to be under control until he breaks contain. Then he can let go. Or maybe a straight QB draw might let him use his speed. But, as a general rule, a QB has to play under contol. At least until they pass the line of scrimmage, or break contain.

Still nice to have that speed when you need it.

Sorry I could find nothing to argue about. Maybe next time, MMKay?

PS. Luck is a LOT faster than I thought he was. Still does not change my mind about him. Big ugly overhyped Pac 10 troll. That is what he is.

RGIII will be like Vick to a degree.....yeah, he is fast but health will always be a concern. He isn't built to run at this level.

He's more than 2 inches taller and 15-20 pounds heavier (than MV7's combine weight).

And he's not a bonehead.

He'll be fine.

He still isn't built to run at this level nor does he run smart. Like Vick, his body isn't built to take punishment.

I agree, above the shoulders he has Vick but there are some similarities. He is more comparable to Vick than any recent mobile QB imo
