Top first rd player who falls

Vontaze Burfict. Can't remember the last time a player fell from top 15 at the beginning of the year to possibly not being drafted at all, and without injury being the cause.

Jeffrey is another that went from top 15 at the beginning of the year to last first/early-mid second

Ingram proved that he was the better OLB prospect, and Upshaw will probably fall some too

May be the biggest longshot when it comes to people falling, but I could honestly see Richardson falling to the middle of the first. Almost everybody has him going top 6, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a run on QBs and WRs that push him back.

Oh, I know. But before the Combine he was hyped as having good speed, and a good burst to get around Tackles... I'm not sure that's the case now.

He will probably run in the low 4.7s, maybe 4.8s. I'm leaning to the 4.8. If I remember correctly, each time he blitzed, he didnt really try to beat the tackle around the edge, he just bull rushed his way in. He has probably the best lower body strength of anyone in the draft.

I agree with what Mayock said(at least I think it was Mayock)...get him to bulk up to around 280 and just put him as a full time DE. I beileve he would be a Charles Johnson type of player. I think he would be a great pick in the early 20's(Detroit...if they lose Avril) or late teens(San Diego).

I wouldn't be surprised if Coples fell out of the first round to be honest with you. Such a talented class, why would you need to take a risk on a guy like that?

Not a chance.....doubt he falls out of the Top10. No way he falls out of the Top 15.

Had good showing at combine and a great Senior Bowl. Quieted "some" of the criticism.

It didn't quiet any criticism if you ask me. The problem has never been his athleticism. If he can be a beast in the senior bowl, why didn't he produce in his senior year? To me this just screams a talented kid not giving a fug and someone who just wants to get his money. He's not committed to winning at all and puts himself before a team.

    • Seriously? A CB who missed all that time on his rookie deal and was also a top 10 pick when the guys picked right before and after have been studs. A RB our GMs tried to replace with FAs and 2nd rounders and two backup level players is one of the best drafts we’ve ever had? I’d argue that the 2011/2012 drafts were better even with just Cam and Luke/Norman. Here’s the drafts I think were better: 2017, maybe 2018, 2015, 2013, 2011, 2012, 2008, 2007, 2001, 2002 (just Pepp) I’m hoping 2025 is way better as well. Honestly, we’ve kind of sucked at drafting overall and that’s the only reason you can even remotely call Horn, Hubbard, Tremble and BC a good draft let alone one of our best ever. Good teams that draft well would laugh at that as a great draft. If you want to look at say the 2023 Lions draft, you’d get 4 stud/above average/average starters not just 3 replaceable starters/backups and a top 10 pick that missed half his games. That’s a draft that helps turn a team into a playoff team. Our record since our 2021 draft is 19-49. A best ever draft doesn’t go 19-49.
    • I remember when football was great.    Wasn't this century.
    • Bingo. You can't pay that type of player elite franchise QB money. That average starter type player can excel when he's surrounded by top shelf talent in a great offensive system but pay him elite QB money and you're going to really struggle to surround him with the type of talent you need to carry him. You pay those elite franchise QBs because they can carry your roster. You can't pay guys who have to be carried. Bryce showed glimpses down the stretch last year. I really hope he keeps building on that. But before we back up the Brinks truck he needs to show that he's the type of QB who can lift up and carry the offense because when you pay those guys that's what they're gonna have to do.
