Life must suck if you are Andrew Luck

Let's facing it, anything the Colts does from here on in will be spinned into something positive for Luck. Unless he out and out bomb, Luck will be given a very long leash to fail. Remember this is Andrew Luck. The kid was already annointed the "greatest QB to come along in 34 years" by the so called scouts and sports experts. Since they have annointed him, I'm sure they will give him time to grow.

Won't predict the same for RG III. Like Cam, he will be on a very short leash. May not be as short as Cam's thou.

Also, truth be known, Cam and the few of the offensive guys had individually successfully accomplishment last season but the Panthers as a team could have done much better and that wasn't because of Cam.

They probably want to surround him with younger talent that he can grow with (Vincent Jackson, Marquese Colston, ect.) rather than lean on Clark and Wayne into their mid-to-late 30s while the rest of the team is rebuilt.

if they are wise, the re-sign Garcon and have him as the number one, sign Manningham or/and Early Doucet and if they dont get Garcon, go after one of those two Saint's WRs if the Redskins dont get one of them.

i think RG3's leash will be long due to Snyder. he's not going to waste an investment quickly, i think he will give him time and if Shanahan is fired, i still see RG3 as the QB in Washington and if he fails under another coach, then he's gone, but i think he will be fine.

the Colts have 38 million in dead money, with an estimated 82 mil cap to work with. ouch.

I can't see the Colts winning more than 5 games next year, Luck strived in a system that was run heavy, and use the Play Action a lot. When have the Colts ever been a good running team? SUCK WITH LUCK campaign, will run until 2016....

Yep but they are gonna throw some money at him. They are cleaning house of older guys not the younger guys. He will remain a Colt. Finding a new number 1 WR is not on the to do list. I think they believe Garcon can be that guy.

I saw where Garcon turned down a huge deal a few days ago... sounds to me he doesnt want to be there. I wouldnt count on him being there...

Sam Bradford did alright as a rookie #1 overall QB on a team with piss-poor offense. It should be interesting to see what Luck can do with his supporting cast.

I wish him well, but I certainly don't want him to eclipse Cam's accomplishments.

Yeah, he had one of the best rookie years statistically (probably a little worse than it looked on paper since it was very easy, high volume throws) since marino throwing to guys like danny amendoula. Then mcdaniels came in and did what he does: screw things up at quarterback.

Cam's records are safe regardless. No one, at least no one in this years draft, will come in and do what Cam did. He's 10 times the athlete any of these QB's are. Dude has the build of a f***ing defensive end, running around like a wide receiver throwing the ball like a pro bowl QB. Ridiculousness.

Nah, life is good. Luck is in a pretty good position. When i look at the roster i do not see a Edge James but they do have a nice young RBC in Delone Carter, Donald Brown and Darren Evans. A young WR corp of Anthony Gonzalez, Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie. A young LT in Anthony Castonzo. A switch to a 3-4 actually is gonna be a good one for them as well. Jerry Hughes, Drake Nevis, Robert Mathis and Phillip Wheeler should all thrive in the new scheme. A new safety ( easily available through FA) to pair with Bethea, a young TE to pair with Luck (Draft) and a nose tackle is the biggest needs i see for the Colts.

anthony gonzales was already told hes out, garcon turned down a contract paying him 7m annually he doesnt want to be back. collie may never be able to play again because of concussions and jacob tamme is a FA

    • My general take on the state of the team not going too in depth is this: Either Morgan or Canales (hard to say whether it’s the players or the system/coaching, and that goes for any team) has been responsible for considerable strides forward on D and a bit more productive offense, but it’s been a small sample size and we collapsed at the end of the year. I lean towards it being more Canales growing as a coach and building a culture of buy-in and getting the most out of players in the locker room. My reasoning for leaning there is that Morgan was part of the Fitterer stink and it’ll take him a while of sustained success in roster management to overcome that in my mind. Next year is a big year to see if that was a fluke or not. These big signings this offseason are exciting and sometimes teams can have amazing FA classes but more often than not those who spend big and “win the offseason” don’t show the results in the regular season.    As far as QB goes, in a vacuum I’m completely fine with the Pickett signing, he’s ok value for a backup and a huge improvement over Dalton. If Bryce went down there isn’t a huge drop off there and if the rest of the team builds on last year they could win games with him under center. I’m not sure the ‘85 Bears could win games with current Dalton under center. But the O is just so damn limited with Bryce and Pickett does not push him at all, he’s purely a backup. So I agree we I’d love to see a QB with some upside drafted, a guy who could actually push Bryce if/when he struggles or doesn’t improve any further. He’s improved steadily the last 2 years but it has been from arguably worst in league history to still below average. I’m not convinced he can get any better than purely average at absolute best. I hope he can man but I just don’t see it happening. And the longer we keep penciling him as starter the less confidence I have in this staff. Even with our unexpected relative success as a team last year sometimes you do have to take another step back to take a step forward, and that could mean moving on from Bryce, and temporarily going with a slightly worse player like Pickett while aggressively trying to upgrade the position and taking dart throws in the draft/free agency on upside players. I know, there wasn’t much available this offseason outside of Willis, and this draft class seems to be poor at QB. But I’d have preferred we try something and if it didn’t work and we took a step back then just keep trying until something hits. Rolling with Bryce is just delaying the inevitable and living in purgatory.    just my 2 cents, hope I’m proved wrong
    • His market value is 15.7 million. Not worth it to bring him at his age, at that price. If we were to bring in a veteran, DeAndre Hopkins is available for 2 million market value. I've said this in other threads, get Keenan Allen to play the slot. He's as good as a pass catching tight end and is market is under 7 million.
