New Todd Mcshay Mock Draft First Two Rounds

Neither of them are safe. Everyone knows how great Cople's talents are, in fact I've stated numerous times that if hes there, the Panthers should draft him, but its not a safe pick.

LOL No pick in the NFL Draft is never a safe pick. No matter how good that player is in college. Doesn't mean he would do good in the NFL level. Luck or RG3 will be the first 2 picks of this year draft. But that doesn't mean one or the other or both couldn't be bust in the NFL. So who even the panthers pick in the first round at 9 could be a star or a bust. Plain and simple.

How sexy would this be?

Trade down to 15-20

Pick up Poe, Brockers, or Still. with first.

Then with our two seconds get Jenkins and Zack Brown.

profit.

Honestly your plan sounds solid right there. If there is a team in the draft that is willing to give up their 1st round around that area and give up a 2 round pick aswell. Would love to go with it. a extra 2nd rounder would be good for us to help fill to voids on D or offense.

When Poe is ready in 5 seasons, then we can compete for a championship?

Ok please give a real reason why Poe can't be a stud coming out of the draft into his first year. Like said before. The draft is very strange. You never know what player can be a star or bust. Even the best player of the draft could turn out to be crap. You don't know until they draft him and get him on the field and play in a live game. Drafting players in the draft is like a lottery. It is a gamble most of the time.

But, even with those risky players, you see flashes on tape. With Poe, you see NOTHING in his game tape.

I love his measurables, but there is a reason the guy did NOTHING agaisnt C-USA talent.

agreed that it is risky. everyone only remembers the bad workout warriors, but there are a few that have really shown, such as Jason Pierre-Paul. He wasn't amazing in college, but had a great combine, and will be a top 5 DE in the league for years to come. Not saying Poe is like JPP, but you can't teach that raw athleticism.

And great athletes don't always equal great football players.

I like Poes potential. But bases off his play...many had him as the 5th best DT prior to the combine. They even knew then he had those great measureables......

Poe just seems to of rocketed up boards and his football play just doesn't seem to support it

JPP definitely showed flashes of what he could be in college. Every bit of game video that I have been able to find on Poe shows the same thing....nothing.

Here is what I like about this mock draft. I think McShay knows every teams need and makes a pretty good case for each player. I personally think McShay is BY FAR one of the best draft analyst in the game. Would we take Jenkins in round 2. It would be insane to let that type of talent to go by.

Since we don't have a 3rd round pick. Those two would be nice to have going into day three of the draft.

Same here. Would be one thing is he had been double-teamed constantly, but the vids I saw had those awesome guards from Rice and UAB locking him down one-on-one. So much so that I thought, "Are those guards in the draft?"

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
