Nfc South Draft Needs Per Chad Reuter (Nfl.com)

I agree with the guy to a degree. If Coby Fleener is there in the second I'd take him. If a really good WR slips to the 2nd I'd take him. If you listen to Ron Rivera talk there are things schematically he can do to hide one bad corner or one bad DT. The problem last year is we had 2 bad linebackers, 2 bad safeties, 1 bad corner, and 2 bad defensive lineman. Between injuries and inexperience we couldn't get the job done.

If a game changing offensive talent is available in the first 2 rounds you take him and wait another year to patch your holes. No one is thinking Super Bowl next season, it's about building for the future. You can make the wild card and have a memorable season with a few holes on defense.

WR would be a luxury and a tip of the cap to NY and NO with all the threats at WR. I'd like us to get Joe Adams who is also a great ST guy if we get a WR.

I think you're missing the point. Priority would be the point. WR isn't, or should be that high on the priority list as far as talking about the draft. DT, DE, CB, OLB, G, TE, WR, P.

That should be the priority. Taking Joe Adams in the 4th would be fine. But taking a WR with our first or second (kinda iffy depends on the WR that may drop) shouldn't happen. Especially with the bigger needs the club has. This is why this NFL.com piece is incredible. How is WR the second need on our teams list? No way it's #2.

There's way too many holes on the defense. No pass rush, even with a pass rush this doesn't mean that the CB situation will magically fix itself. You still need a competent CB covering. Saw some tape on Hogan. Not that impressed, Not saying he's not going to become a #2 but he needs work for sure.

Also, how often are these NFL.com pundits aware of the teams situation? We're a small market team and that list shows they don't know what the true needs are.

Top CB talent in the draft is a no brainer to most fans. These same fans talk down about Hogan. He isn't proven.

Yet a draft prospect is more proven?

Great logic.

How does Hogan get the beneifit of doubt but lafell and Gettis get crap on when expert say "Cam needs more Weapons".

How is that fair.

I don't think that they believe in LaFell and Gettis yet as we may.

Did they say somewhere those needs are listed in order? Because there is no #2 next to WR. I think Greg Hardy, David Gettis, and Brandon LaFell are all about equal in how well they have played. How is DE more important than WR?

I'd put CB #1 because of Captain Munnerlyn. Brandon Hogan is a second year player that's only had a handful of NFL snaps. You could argue a full season starting in college has more value to a players growth than backup duty for a couple games in the NFL.

The chances of our 1st or 2nd round picks coming in and taking the league by storm are very low. What we hope for is average starters with upside.

With the WR being a need. They aren't just looking at Gettis and LaFell and thinking "Carolina needs a #2 WR". They are thinking Steve Smith is getting old and the Panther need to draft someone now to develop into the #1. LaFell and Gettis will never be #1s. They always talk about the three year learning curve with WRs so it's logical to get someone now.

Hogan had a very good college career. He was top talent coming out. Slipping only cause of injury.

So rather than see what they have in him, ya would like to draft another CB of similar talent, that is equally unproven at the NFL level.

Fool is trippin' for not not listing CB as one of our biggest needs. Can't really blame him for thinking Cam needs another target though with Gettis being so unknown. We, the fans, know though that big things are coming from #12.

Can't really speak to his analysis of the rest of the South. If it's anything like his bit on our needs, it's surface level at best.

If he was going to cover all our needs in one article, he might as well write a book.
