Assuming no trades. I'm also not going with my gut feeling that Claiborne drops to us, which I believe has a better chance of happening than most realize.

1st: Melvin Ingram, DE, South Carolina

TBH, I like Dontari Poe here, but it's not looking likely at this point. With all the talk about Coples, so many people have overlooked a guy I think is the better player. Ingram is, IMO, the best pass rusher in this draft. He can rush from OLB or from DE, which is perfect for Rivera's multiple look defense. It's entirely possible he's gone by our pick, but there's a very good chance he'll be there too.

2nd: Amini Silatolu, OG, Midwestern State

This isn't a big name prospect, but he's going to go a lot sooner than most people think. With Wharton gone we have to start investing in the OL - especially the interior OL - and Silatolu is a guy we could plug in day one as a starter.

4th: Keenan Robinson, OLB, Texas

Rivera has said he wants to add depth at linebacker and we have been noted as having shown interest in Robinson. He's a solid prospect with good upside, particularly in the 4th round.

5th: Evan Rodriguez, TE, Temple

With Shockey's status uncertain we need a young developmental TE who we can groom for the future alongside Olsen. Rodriguez was used similarly to how Aaron Hernandez was used in college and while some say he's a better fit as an h-back, I like his potential at TE.

6th: Bryan Anger, P, California

Anger is pretty much the consensus top punter in the draft. He could be gone before this pick, but most teams won't draft a punter too early.

6th: Winston Guy, S, Kentucky

For whatever reason, his stock has fallen somewhat. If we can get him this late it would be a very good pick, though. He has a lot of upside as a potential starter down the road. God knows we need someone to push Sherrod Martin if Nakamura can't do so.

7th: Delvin Johnson, DT, Marshall

In the 7th round you pretty much just look for players with some upside that you can develop. It certainly wouldn't hurt to get another body at DT. Who knows, maybe we'll find a diamond in the rough?

Now that I've been comparing the two of them it's clear that Ingram has a lot more lower body strength than Norwood, with similar speed and mobility. That would certainly make Ingram a much better DE prospect than Norwood, who seems to be more like a slow LB, or a weak DE.

As long as any mock dosent have brockers with the first pick then I'm ok with it.

But I haven't really thought about Ingram at 9. He seems super athletic. Especially for a DE. I think he's the most athletic pass rusher that's for sure. Idk if he's the best pass rusher though. But man I wouldn't complain at all with this.

As far as the other picks. Idk much about the guard in the second. We need depth and possibly a starter on the o line but I would rather have maybe a cb there or a DT and possibly a safety.

I'd probably go with S Harrison smith but good mock man

Here's my dream mock

1st-Quinton Coples DE: Obviously a great pickup for our mediocre DL. He was a monster at the senior bowl and is a much better player than his stats say.

2nd-Stephen Hill WR: He has the potential to be the best WR of this draft. Standing at an imposing 6'4, he ran a blazing 4.36 dash and had a 40'' vert. Averaging 30ypc this season, he has monstrous upside.

4th-Jamell Fleming CB: A very solid CB who could start in the nfl. In 2011 he had 60 tackles, 10 PBU's, 2 int's and 2FF

5th- Jaye Howard DT: The anchor of a very underrated Florida DL. In 2011 he had 65 tackles 10 TFL 5.5 Sacks and 2 PBU'S

6th-Danny Trevathan OLB: this guy is the steal of the draft. Playing in the SEC with a mediocre surrounding cast at Kentucky he had a Beast season in 2011. His stats were insane with 144 tackles 11.5 TFL 3 Sacks 4 int's 5FF and 5PBU's.

Comp. Bryan Anger P: this team needs a Punter and he is the best one available In the draft.

7th- Cliff Harris CB: Many forget that coming into 2011 he was a potential 1st round pick with 33 tackles 6 int's 17 PBU'S and 4 PR TD's. If Rivera can give him some discipline, he could not only be a great CB but also a phenomenal PR.

Guest Bwood

I'd probably want a corner earlier than a guard.

And for anyone that thinks Ingram is only a 3-4 LB is nuts. Ingram has lined up at 4-3 OLB, 4-3 DE, and 4-3 DT, and he excelled at all of those positions. Just because he is speedy and smaller doesn't mean he is only suited to play rush LB, he also has exceptional power and strength which makes him so versatile in our defense.

Coples is great, but with the questions about his motor, and Ingrams ability to move around, I have to give Ingram the slight edge.

Probably the worst draft I seen so far. No to Ingram .

I don't think Hurney is going to draft another small DE in his lifetime ever again.

Ingram had potential but not in our 43.

Can guarantee that he'll be playing for a 34 D.

Small? Ingram is 6'1 and close to 270. That's not small for a 4-3 DE. Everette Brown was barely 240 when we drafted him; it's not even close to the same thing and they're not even remotely similar players. Ingram is a MUCH more complete player than Brown ever was.

yeah it is. 6'2 is the low end of what a 4-3 DE should be, really you want a guy that's 6'4 - 6'5. I like Ingram but not for us, he'll almost certainly go to a 3-4 team.

    • They're examples of denying reality. Here are some others: ,- Bryce is the worst QB in the NFL right now (no he isn't) - Bryce is the worst QB in NFL history (no he's not; that's stupid) - Well then Bryce is at least the the worst QB in the league over the last three years (nope, he's actually improved a lot since year one, which was a turbulent year anyway) - That's not true, he hasn't Improved one but since his rookie year (oh come on) 🙄 - Well, even if he did, we can't win with him (obviously we can) - Yeah but not unless everyone else is damn near perfect (think the game film from our wins this year would back that up?) - Even so, we won those games in spite of him (officially the stupidest argument available) And no, those are made up. You can find those quotes and other equally moronic statements in various threads around the board. I know some folks always need to characterize whatever they're against as the worst thing in existence. It's hyperbole, and it's hypersilly. Likewise, you've got some who are so absolutely emotional about it that even if you think Bryce isn't good enough (which I do) they'll still call you a stan if you don't agree to label him the lousiest passer in existence 🙄 It's just dumb, and it's not realistic. But on the flipside, here are some statements which are; - Bryce is indeed capable of both playing in, and winning, an NFL game. Not on a consistent level though, and consistency is huge. - He is also capable of completing mid-range and even some deep passes; hell, he threw a beauty this past Sunday  - Yes, he has improved over his rookie season and over last year. Arguing against that is disingenuous. - Believe it or not, other players are the roster do make mistakes in games also.  - And lastly, while I know it hurts some people's narrative and arguments, Bryce does indeed deserve credit for the winning games he's played in this season. ... Every single one of those statements is true. And since i acknowledge all that, I must be in favor of keeping him in place then Except I'm not 😕 ... Don't know of anyone who doesn't think he'll get the fifth year option. Not ready to guarantee anything beyond that, though. So bottom line: Yeah, Bryce is fully expected to be our quarterback through next year. If there were a logical, realistic path to acquire a more capable starter and transition Bryce to a backup I'd be elated, but that's a pipe dream. This where we're at  I don't **** it, you don't like it, others don't either. But here We are so let's make the best of it that we can.
    • What does it matter how fast the wrs are with Bryce he is not hitting them anyway
    • Let's be real. Signing Matt Kalil who was at the time inconsistent at best was always an extremely risky move and largely initiated by the fact he was related to one of our most prominent players Ryan Kalil. Memories get fuzzy the longer time passes I guess. Go watch some old Panthers games with Ted Ginn nearly losing us games. Then watch Cam Newton keep going back to him again and again and again. Then read all the Xavier Legette criticism while making excuses for Bryce being swept by rookie 2nd round pick Tyler Shough. Throwing TMac under the bus is just further proof how deranged the Bryce Young defense force has become. Bryce Young can barely compete in this gutter iteration of the NFC South. Let's see him take this WR core to the playoffs in an NFC South with Drew Brees and Matt Ryan
