Goodbye Pep...

Peppers would have to be a damn fool to do that.

Or be really stubborn. If he doesn't think Carolina will deal him to the teams he wants to go to because they can get better compensation from him from other teams, and he believes they will franchise him again after next season and this whole thing will play out once again, he might do it if he's THAT stubborn and wants to play for one of those teams THAT badly.

I don't think it will happen FTR but it is a possibility.

This is just like when Jenkins was here he wanted out the year before we traded him. We couldnt get anything for him but being a professional he went out and played. The next year we was able to get him traded and get some picks. Same thing with Peppers he might not be happy but when it comes time to play he will be out there. If he doesnt it will hurt his cjances to get traded next year.

Peppers and his agent refuse the concept of the player as a commodity. A lesser player may have gotten away with demanding a trade and gotten released...eventually. They really have acted naively, imo, throughout the entire process and I really don't expect that to change overnight.

By not signing the tender Peppers is telling the Panthers that he intends to sit out training camp and beyond, they would be a fool not to prepare and I think the FO is handling a difficult situation very well.

Yeah, but if he sits out, his stock with those teams that he covets so much goes straight into the crapper.

If it's truly not about the money with him though, as long as they'll sign him it may not be that big of a deal to him how much money he makes.

Yeah, but why would anybody be more inclined to sign him at any price next year if he sits out this year? He's already 29yrs old, so it's not like he has 10yrs left in him.

Just reporting what I read. He is a one-two down DE.

No one can say what he is just yet.

Let's assume the front office doesn't care about where the guy was projected to go. Let's assume they don't base their decisions on what they read. Let's just assume that they saw something they really liked in Everette Brown.

If this front office had a tendency to both early round picks, especially defensive ones, then I might be concerned. I just don't see why it's so difficult to imagine the front office might know more than we think they do.

I don't think he's going to fall off the face of the earth talent-wise regardless of whether he sits out a year or not. I'm sure at least ONE of those four teams he wanted to play for would sign him to maybe a 1-2 year deal that didn't cost a whole lot.

    • Appreciate you, brother!  I know it was lengthy, but I felt whoever actually read it would appreciate it.
    • Damn good take, brother.  I think I take that poo personally because (sidebar: I don’t like to use narcissist often because social media has made it a buzzword and diluted the meaning, so when I use it, I don’t take it lightly) I grew up in a home with a raging narcissist, then married a narcissist and just came out of a divorce after a 20 year marriage with her, where afterwards she met and married another narcissist.🤣  And in my dealings with them, over my 41 years on this earth, at times I took great delight in breaking down their arguments point by point and forcing them to either acknowledge their wrongs and take ownership of them or watch them yammer and stammer away when they ran out of lies and excuses.  At various points, that was extremely satisfying, but ultimately, which I’ve realized especially after the last 3 years and going through the divorce and everything, it does NOTHING to them.  It doesn’t affect them one way or another.  For a logical, reasonable, grounded person, you would think calling them in their poo will bring it to their attention when they’re face when nothing but facts and truth and force them to change, but nope.  Not in the slightest.  They just disassociate from the ones who do that and find more people who will validate their behaviors and thinking.  poo pisses me off because they’re so destructive and couldn’t care less so long as their needs are met.
