True but you can still see how easily we would have been screwed this year because we have so few picks to work with. Next year we should get some compensatory picks and possibly more from a Peppers trade.

You're right. And in defense of Squirrel, I was really hoping White would slip to us at 59. I was pissed the Dolphins took him, but the bright side is that I won't have to hate him for playing for the Pats, lol.

Also we play the dolphins twice this year and get to see what we missed out on. :(

I was shocked Miami grabbed him there I figured late second or early third. Plus also with us pciking right before he got drafted stung. Didnt think we would grab him when we moved up but was hoping he might last til our 2nd pick.

Miami is probably the best possible fit for White. I'm not sure we would have taken him at 59 even if he was there.

I dont think he would have lasted the Patriots would have grabbed him before the 59th. But if he made it to 59th I think we would since we picked up Brown. But we wil never know.

Boo freaking hoo. Another year without a draft party. Guess everyone has to find a different excuse to get piss drunk on a Saturday morning.

Excuse me where did I say anything about a draft party? Point of the whole thing was we traded a first round pick for a 2nd round pick. We are on the wrong side of the trading of picks and have been the past two years. I dont mind trading out of the first just make sure it is in our favor.

Did you see Stewart last season? Did you see Otah last season? That was possibly the smartest 1st round we have ever had.

Did you see Forte last season? Did you see Slaton? I have no problem with Otah but Steart was a reach when the draft was so deep in RB's. They should have taken Otah with the 13th and selected a RB in the 2nd or 3rd. We could have saved our picks last year instead of trading them to get back into the first round.

I would have been fine if we had used the 2nd pick today on a DT. I know we need a nickel in this draft, in case the ones we have already aren't up to the challenge, but we absolutely NEED a DT imo.

DE 2A, DT 2B and I'm okay with it. Since we got a S with our second, I'm dumbfounded and a little upset with this whole thing.

this time last year Panther Nation was bitching that Otah was the reach and not worth 1st rounder.....nobody claimed Stewart was a reach. Those two guys helped us have the best ground game in franchise history, most productive ground game in the NFL last season, best record in franchise history and turned out to be FANTASTIC picks depsite some questions marks (injury, raw talent, etc.). Drafting both of them was great and you are suggesting the Panthers shouldn't have done it?

We had one major need going into the draft and moving up was the only way to get it. If you look at the defensive scheme we are projected to run......he was without a doubt the best DE in the draft for us.

Great job this year. I think the 2nd pick was good b/c despite the love for Godfrey....he was a liability last year despite his potential. Our new DC now has some more options to play w/. Godfrey can also play some CB you know.......

Who gives a sh1t about next years first. That pick is not going to help us now. We were able to get another 2nd and 4th this year and those picks could really help us. I'm iffy about the Martin pick myself, I thought we should have picked Gilbert but I have faith in our guys they know the players better than we do.

    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
    • The Jets and Bill's are statistically worse
