For Those Who Smoke Cigarettes, Serious Question.

Fact: I use to be addicted, and smoked for a couple of years as a teenager in the 90's. So I do know and understand addiction. I also know that while 20 years ago doctors did think it was bad, nobody knew just how bad it is. nowadays, with the advancement of science, technology, and most important the media, I do not understand why people continue to smoke....

I completely know what addiction is, unfortunately I wish my only experience with addiction was with cigarettes, but it's not...

My grandmother smoked 1.5 packs a day for 60 years, then one day just quit cold turkey and never had another cig ever.

The thing I have seen and experienced about quitting smoking is you can quit, if you want to, and have the will to want to quit.

well there's your answer, some people smoke because they want to, after 1 or 2 years the physical addiction is the only thing you have to break. After 10+ years it's like getting a freaking divorce. There's an emotional attachment that come along with them that's extremely difficult to break.

i smoked for 12 years. quit... still have a few here and there. just bought an electronic cig to puff on when i go fishing or something.

Believe it or not, there are actual physical benefits to smoking as well. And while smoking additive and organic free tobacco isn't "healthy" , it is a whole hell of a lot better than your normal cigarette.

That said, I quit 4 years ago.

My crutch is dip. Two cans a day, started in jr high. Ive been conquering demons as of late and this bitch is the last remaining on my list. See, just typing about it and I reach for the can. It owns me, but only for a bit longer.

    • It will come down to how much the defense has improved. Early results say none. The offense is still a mystery and is dependent on Young and the young group of receivers to make a huge jump in production. The run game is in trouble if preseason is any indicator. Special teams isn't very special and coaching is questionable. I'd say 6 wins is the ceiling until they prove something other than they've shown so far.
    • Zero signs of life is a stretch there was a lot of energy early and we won the entire first half with what was likely the guys in the middle of the roster and very little starters. Our back-up QB is a problem and we still need to find something LBs. but overall tonight was the first game I saw life. After the 3rd quarter those are the last guys up on both rosters
    • 6 wins is what I'd expect best case. Some decent consistency from offense finally paying off, but I suspect that not much will help overcome a rather lackluster defense with middling depth. Evero fired midseason resultingly.
