I picked CB, reason we only have one prove, in the modern passing era, you need 3 good corners, we have 1. and possible one in Hogan, even if Hogan turns out to be a beast, we still would need another one.....

Put I'm conflicted, I think the DE (i haven't felt like this until recently) is as just as important. The DT, even without Edwards (another unknown), has gotten better as Shirley, Kearse and Neblett took over, another year under those guys belt, a solid offseason of prep, I think we our okay at the DT,

CB, DE and LB BPA out of those 3, and Im okay with using our 1st pick on any of those positions draft day....

We're significantly better against the pass. Still not top 10 or anything, but better than our 31st (?) ranked rush defense.

I wouldn't go that far. We stunk at both and teams had no reason to throw on us when they could just hand it off and rack up yards. Because rushing the ball has less variables it's easier just to hand it off. I'm sure if they wanted to, they could have done more work against our secondary. We gave up the most yards be attempt in the air in the NFL.

64.9 CMP% (3rd worst in the league)

8.4 Y/P (Worst in the league)

98.3 QBR (3rd worst in the league)

39.0 1st Down % (5th worst in the league)

28 touchdowns (7th worst in the league)

We sucked at both. It was just less apparent with our pass defense because teams didn't pass against us often because our run defense sucked too.

    • It would depend on how we lost... If we lose a bunch of 17-13 . 20-7 type games where the defense plays well and offensively Bryce is sh***TING the bed...then he wouldn't get fired.  If we are losing 40-9, 38-14 type games..then yeah it's a possibility.   Couple that with our tough schedule.. if we show well in lets say half those games.. win either Seattle or New England game, at least 1 win vs division oponents.. he's good.  So imo.. to get fired he needs to : Loose badly against the top tier teams ie Blown out Show no progress offensively from last year. Show an unwillingness to bench Bryce again if he is horrible over multiple games ..  Get swept by the Saints again.
    • I think he's gone, and rightfully so, if he turns in another losing record. The "talented roster," regardless of how true or not, is a double-edged sword. If the roster is so much improved now from 202X then why are you still producing losing seasons? On one hand, maybe that's what needs to happen. Have the GM hire the new coach, and then have the new coach pick his guy to run his system. That is typically how it works in the NFL. Not the forced inheritance deal we have had in place.
    • Hinging on Brooks to be our spark...be good if it happens... but not holding my breath....RB next draft. Morgan gambled...it would be a 2 year payoff if thing happened.
