It IS just you, you're the only one who thinks it's as low as '01. I understand people being down about jake's playoff game. I understand people not being happy about the Julius Peppers situation.. but Fan Morale is down to the point where we lost 15 straight? Right... It's DEFINITELY just you.

Correction, people are not down about Jake's playoff game. They are down that he got a raise and extension that guarantees us no chance at a Super Bowl the next few years. Just because 3/4th of the people on here are drinking the electric blue kool aid doesnt mean the entire fanbase is. The Panthers and those homers will learn in 2009 you cant win or progress when half your fanbase doesnt believe in the most important player on your team.

You, as well as the rest of people don't seem to realize that his extension can be restructured again and again and again so we can cut him without taking a big cap hit. He's going to be around for one more year.. Believe it or not

While people are upset, they'll be happy once he hooks up with steve smith for a touchdown. The only way people continue to dismiss him is if he continues to struggle, in which case you will get your wish and he'll be benched, restructured and eventually let go.

Jake will be here AT LEAST 3 more years. Jake struggled this year and capped it off with the worst QB playoff performance in recent memory. If that doesnt get him out of the door nothing will. Add in the fact that our owner is not wealthy enough to give guys big extensions then cut them (a la Jerry Jones) and its insane to think he wont be here long. What you have here is a front office and segment of the fanbase that wants a Brett Favre. A guy that will be considered the "saviour" of the franchise and play here til he's 40. There's nothing that John Fox and this FO has shown me in the past 7 years to indicate that they have any long term plans for this franchise post Jake Delhomme. Those who fail to plan, plan to fail.

I think the Jake fans will be happy when that happens. I think everybody else will not give him any benefit of the doubt until he goes deep into the playoffs and plays above what he's pretty much played his entire career. My wish aint for Delhomme to be benched or let go. Im beyond that. My wish is that we get an ownership group and front office people who's only goal is to win the Super Bowl. Because ultimately that is what this fanbase and franchise will be judged on. Not how long we stuck with our washed up QB, not how nice our players are, not how friendly our stadium is for opposing fans. But winning! The expectations here are too low (just dont go 1-15 and we're happy!) and the Panthers front office has taken advantage of that for the past decade.

So who would you get to replace Delhomme? I understand that this argument is used often. but instead, I will let you pick QBs that are currently on a team, or future prospects. And THEN, tell me why they would help our team and in what ways they are better than Delhomme. In addition to that, tell me how they fit in our offense, and what you expect from them game-to-game.

I think we still lack an interior pass rush- maybe we'll still make a move for Dwayne Robertson.

I agree.

My only complaint right now.

But Getting Robertson/Darwin Walker back would help a bit.

That's assuming that Robertson actually has some human parts left in his knee, or the NFL allows Bionic's

Im glad the Panthers don't give in to their fans like some organizations do. I also like the aggressive mentality of Hurney once again in this draft. Fox and Hurney are well aware that this franchise has never had consecutive winning seasons, and they are determined to make that happen this year.

EXACTLY. People keep saying our FO surely knows more than us so we should continue to blindly trust them. That blind trust is why this FO and ownership group has 0 pressure to bring the big one to Carolina. The front office still hasnt shown us they can put up back to back winning seasons or put some trophies in the case. When they do, I will blindly trust them.

They have the NFC Championship Trophy. And we've been a franchise for not even 15 years...

We could be the Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, or the New Orleans Saints who have ALL never even made the BIG one...and they've been around (besides Houston/Jax) much longer than us...so chill out....

You guys expect way too much and then get mad when we go 12-4 and keep the players that got us there....I think most of you all think you know more, more than Fox and Hurney and that's simply idiotic...

Just for the record, KT is not the only person not drinking the Fox/Hurney/Delhomme Kool-aid. Much of the news media I have seen, reputable writers, and scouts, say the same thing about Delhomme and he really hasn't done anything to change that opinion.

No one wants Delhomme to fail, no one....as the saying goes though, 'past is prelude'.

Delhomme is here, he will be here until he is dragged out. The problem is there is no one in the wings, there is no alternative and staying competitive in the long run, not just this minute.

Look at the teams in our division, NO = Brees; TB made a move for their future yesterday; and Ryan in Atlanta.

QB is the most important on the field. QBs don't fall from trees.

Atlanta will surpass the Panthers and it won't be long.

    • What you are saying isn't always true and I'll give you several examples to demonstrate this. 1) The best player on the board at the end of in round 1 by all consensus is RB (top 15 player in draft who slips b/c of the devaluation of the RB position). Your team is in desperate need of a LT because the current one is getting your QB killed. You already have a serviceable RB in place. The LT has a 2nd round grade and you have the first pick on day 2 of the draft Who do you choose? 2) Your run defense was abysmal the previous season. A DT in round 2 does not provide much in terms of pass rush, but most reports have him rated as the best pure run stuffing DT in the draft. The two highest rated players on your board at the time are a TE and tweener at OLB/DE who slipped into round 2 after a run on WR's. Who do you choose? 3) Your pass rush rush is solid across the board. You even have guy coming off of the bench to provide production. Your secondary in below average. No Safety on the roster is a difference maker and as a unit the squad doesn't have an INT. The highest rated player on the board is a DE. The 5th highest rated player on the board is a an intelligent ball hawking Safety. Which player would make the team immediately better?  1) I think the BPA logic applies when your team is solid across the board and you can afford to draft for depth 2) I think it also applies when your team stinks and any solid player will be an immediate upgrade over what you already have. I agree that you should NEVER reach for a player when you are need at a position like we did for Bryce Young. But I also think if there's is a player on the board that will fill a glaring weakness you need to take him even if a player with a higher over all ranking is available at another position (which isn't a need)
    • Bryce Young excels at dividing Panthers fans. That seems to be what he's best at.
    • 184 yards game, 61% completion 11 tds 5ints    thats ranks :check notes:  25th in the nfl
