Sad to hear, but I'm glad he isn't suffering anymore.

I'm in my late twenties but have seen footage from Bandstand and know what he was like on his NYE shows prior to the stroke. It was really sad seeing him the last few years and it looked like it took him a lot of effort to even come out and be presentable in both speech and appearance.

Ryan Seacrest took over about 4 years ago, they showed Clark doing the countdown in pretty bad condition the past few years. Not surprising, but very sad. He'll be missed.

His influence on American music and TV has been huge.
