Trade with Philly

Panthers get the 15th, 88th, and next years second. Panthers start accumulating picks rather than giving them away

They draft:

1st S Gilmore CB

Great value at 15 slot and helps stop the 4th qtr meltdowns that kept us out of playoffs last year.

2nd C Fleener TE

No need bringing back Shockey. Too much money and baggage. Fleener is faster and will give us great new options for downfield.

3rd J Brown T

Otah gone after this year, Gross getting old, offense we run no longer needs road grader types, very versitile which is always good.

4th M Martin DT

Very stout against the run, will fit in our rotation nicely

5th D Davis OLB

Everyone at Senior Bowl blown away by his atleticism. Reminds me of Anderson who we also got in the 5th.

6th D Wylie WR

Guy can be great in ST and our slot threat.

6th J Bequette DE

High motor guy for rotation.

7th S Powell P

Hate to spend a draft pick at all on a punter, but, got to have one.

    • Nina King continues to run circles around the rest of college basketball. She's been ahead of the curve on everything, and is the biggest reason for Duke's success post-K IMO. I think Scheyer is great at many things, but Duke went into the NIL era 100% ready whereas everyone else was playing catchup.
    • Happy they won convincingly instead of letting them hang around. Montreal is cooked, and rather than play hockey, they've decided to take some really cheap shots at guys. I get a player may feel a need to set the tone, and I understand how that works. But to 2-hand cross check someone intentionally in the face, to have a guy down on the ice and put his head into the ice with a stick, to just start punching anyone who gets within arm's reach- that's not setting the tone. That is nothing short of playing dirty.  That said, the Canes.... oh boy. They could have run this score to 6-0 with half a power play. It's embarrassing how bad the PP is. If the Canes go to the Cup finals against a team who scores at least 1 goal per game on the PP, they'll lose the close games because of the lack of results on the PP.
    • Because he knows they are winning the cup. And I fully support his decision.
