Ryan Kalil Brother Could Slide In The Draft.

I doubt Fisher in STL would take him (He would be more inclined to take Dline over Oline that high), I don't think TB would either because of the money they just spent on their Oline. The Dolphins need a CB and have Jake Long.

If Minny doesn't take him I could definitely see him falling to Carolina at 9 and if he slides past both Minny and STL, he'll make it to 9 unless someone leap frogs Carolina.

Still don't think Minny passes him up at #3, Blackmon isn't worth that high of a pick and they've already got a solid RB so Richardson is out of the question.

While I'm sure this probably won't happen, I won't argue the fact that it COULD happen, although HIGHLY unlikely.

The point I'd like to make is this: Let's pretend Kalil does fall to #9. Would Carolina take a chance and draft him without ever bringing him in for a private workout or player visit? Didn't our team president say not that long ago that would be "career suicide" or something to that affect? So that's my only question. I'd love to have a Kalil wall protecting Cam, but our spot this year in the draft is just so random, ANYTHING could happen...

I have been reading that not everyone is sold on him. Some people feel like he's near his ceiling athletically. I would def take him at 9 and worry about defense next year. It is unlikely but possible. Miami wouldn't take him. Cleveland wouldn't take him. Tampa might. We will see.

Depends who's there defensively at 9. Which is why I can't wait

Cossel thinks it could happen, BUT i dont see it. my prediction is that Kalil wont last by 3, BUT if the Vikings shock me, then the Browns also could look into him (imagine Thomas AND Kalil on the same line), then the Bucs will look into it (doubt it though), the Rams would likely then draft him and if he somehow doesnt go there, then there's Jacksonville and Miami both!!! if he makes it to 9 (again, doubt it) i say take him. do we need him badly, no, but he's the best player on the board and would be nice to see the Kalil brothers together and i think he could play both left and right tackle or could move Gross to right.

    • It is a tough decision.  There is another factor.  Is he in game shape?  A tired Hunt is not better than an "in-shape" Corbett.  When coming off an injury, it is natural to want to protect the injured area, even if it is completely healed.  This can cause you to contort your body for no reason, lose fundamentals, and it could lead to other injuries.  For example, I had a knee in high school that required getting taped.  That made me aware of the knee (not used to tape on my knee) and I pulled my groin (favoring or dragging the leg with the tape).  The trainer explained the groin injury the way I do here--but scared money makes no money.  If he is cleared to play, he is cleared to play.  Watch him, rotate him in for a series, etc.  Specifically, I would want to watch the matchup--who is winning more--Corbett or Hunt?  How is the defense reacting (if at all) to Hunt being in?  Etc.
    • Shannon was sued for $50 million (settled out of court, I believe) for forcing sex on his girlfriend during a two-year relationship.  He denies it, but ESPN let him go last April.  Chad Johnson's wife filed a police report because he head-butted her in a car and was put on probation. I had to google it.  I watched the Ray Rice video and when you see it, you realize just how vile and cowardly abusing a woman really is.  But for the same point Aussie tried to make, these women are defenseless, and being phyiscally bigger and stronger does not validate your actions.   I can't even stand to watch Steve Smith.  I can't normalize this kind of behavior--again, I do not think R-P had that in mind when he posted this.  When the reason was exposed, we should realize that we are talking life (quality of) and death (in some cases) here.
    • I can respect the fact that we should not glorify or normalize men who have a history of beating women.  I do not think anyone was thinking of that when they posted this, but if head-butting your wife and unconsensual sex (rape) is something you cannot overlook, I agree with that.  I think they are both half-crazed attention hounds regardless of their pasts.
