Report: Panthers To Take Blackmon If He Falls To 9....

you should meet the guy who wears those chops...

I like Blackmon A LOT. I do not think he is the guy to push us of DL in this particular draft though. We are so needy for a pass rush right now it would take something extraordinary to justify making the move. To most JB is just that. I admit I did not follow him enough to give a definite yes or no and feel very confident about it.

I can say this. If a defensive coach like Riv signs off on it knowing what I think our needs are one or all of the following must be true:

-the defensive line is in better shape than I thought, particularly the soph DT's and Hardy/Applewhite combo

-the confidence in Gettis, Lafell, or both is not where I thought it was

- Blackmon is just a bad mofo/

Blackmon please. Coples will be Vernon Gholston 2.0. A good build doesn't make a good football player. Blackmon is a monster; if we have a shot at him it should be a hands-down no brainer pick.

That said, I'm not in any way expecting it to actually happen. He'd have to make it past the Rams and Jags, which is EXTREMELY unlikely as both have a desperate need at WR.

Blackmon is a bad mofo, but this draft will have a lot of talent at our two biggest needs in the top of round two. Either Worthy, or Still should still be on the board at DT, as well as CB's Robinson, and Jenkins. Trading Cox for one of those DT's or CB's and getting Blackmon to boot....no brainer....

I like the Crabtree comparison. Good but not special

THIS!

I cant imagine drafting a WR in the top 10 that isnt a a freak.

He is short at 6'1 and doesnt have elite speed.

With how deep this WR class is we be dumb as hell to take Blackmon or Floyd in the first!

We need defense!

Our offense would be on the Packers level with the return of Gettis and Blackmon.

No it would be better seeing as our ground game is better, we would have a balanced attack with to many weapons to focus on just one, Steve Smith would be deadly out of the slot.

While I agree on the need for defense if he is there he is the BPA.

4.4 speed great hands solid after the catch, and as a panthers fan you should know height will not hinder desire.

This times 133413241324 why any Panther fan would use height as a reason Blackmon won't be good is asinine....

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
    • Live look at Bryce playing ping pong.
