Report: Panthers To Take Blackmon If He Falls To 9....

Don't think people thought Fitz would be Fitz....

Can never say a player can't be X.....too many greats weren't projected to be greats.

Uhh...I do recall as a draft nerd that Fitz was a no brainer route running, jumpball guy who was strong and made circus catches...he was considered a great one to get in the draft. Of the three mentioned Andre Johnson was more the he has elite tools and could be elite.. But Calvin and Fitz were no brainers. Blackmon is not better than Julio Jones or AJ Green..

but best case I do see a TO like after the catch performer and he does play bigger than his measurables...Im not knocking his skill set. floyd has the better "he has the tools" but has wayy more risk. but so did Crabtree and yes ...same school and offense do skew some perspective as I think Blackmon is less diva and a better rte runner than Crabtree.

If it was Julio Jones or AJ green id say go for it...without rookie season knowledge.

-since Blackmon is not a given star at his position, my instincts say its not worth bypassing a potential impact defensive guy which is a need.

2011: offense 5th. Defense: just awful..28th..but lost 6+ games...and could not get off the field in second halves ..I know most saw this.

opinions are in bold.

Defense bigger problem than offense. FACT. Check the rankings

Deep WR class. FACT only an uninformed idiot would try to argue different.

Blackmon isnt elite. FACT. put the pipe down if you would try to say he is on Calvin, Andres, Fitz, Moss, Green level.

I guess the last statement could be opinion...

fitz was drafted 3rd overall... not exactly a sleeper.

Not a sleeper....best WR in his class. Not sure everyone had the Pitt WR inked in as a NFL great though

There were knocks on Megatron coming out....great physical specimen but couldn't make a play against the likes of Clemson?

Hindsight makes some comparison not really fair....

Message boards are for opinions right?

Draft debate is fun and this whole conversation is the the birthing of all fantasy sports...to prove I know more about players i have no control over with money and a stastical measure.

Although I love Hakeem Nicks this would be a luxury pick...if by chance a Kalil who is elite..that is who you cannot pass up.

I don't think you know the definition of a FACT.

fact

Pronunciation:/fakt/

noun

  • a thing that is known or proved to be true:

o·pin·ion/əˈpinyən/

Noun:

  • A view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.

I don't think anyone here said he was on there level maybe you would like to show me where we did?

He isn't worth a top 5 pick like the guys you mentioned but he is easily worth a pick from 8-14.

I think the people saying no to Blackmon underestimate how deadly of a weapon he could be with Smitty on the other side of the field and Olsen splitting the middle. This is an extremely deep draft at A LOT of positions, not just WR. We can easily get a good player on the defensive front or CB at #40. If Blackmon is there you take him and Cam thanks you for it.....

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
    • Live look at Bryce playing ping pong.
