In An Article Titled "which Nfl Teams Got Worse This Offseason?"...

the thing is, outside of trading up for Blackmon, would we really have been able to get someone talented enough to immediately relieve pressure from Smitty in the draft? Perhaps Floyd, but when he was not even close to the best pick on the board at that time, would he have been worth it?

Getting a decent vet FA might have been nice, but IMO, we don't need a "serviceable veteran" at WR, we need someone who can in time basically replace Smitty. Because of that, we don't want to just grab every WR we can, we need to be careful about who we pick up - especially with a couple young relative unknowns.

It may not be the biggest hole given the strides we need to make on defense, but it is definitely a huge question mark and we'be been down this road before.

We are gambling on lafell and gettis, and gettis is coming back from a major injury in what will essentially be only his second season. So what happens if neither can take on the role as a true #2?

It would be wise to atleast have a backup plan, which I assume and hope our front office has.

ESPN has posted some rediculous articles in the past few weeks. I've stopped reading what they spew as knowledge. They must have hired a Taints moron to write their articles. Maybe its Brees and thats why he's been too busy to sit down with Benson and finish negotiations.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
