Call Of Duty: Black Ops Ii / Launches 11.13.2012 (Trailer Inside)

A couple nights ago they released the trailer for Black Ops II, supposedly set in 2025. Not exactly sure how I feel about it just based on the trailer, almost too futureistic for my liking. For only 13 years in the future, they seem to have made a pretty big jump technology wise (walking vehicles. WTF).

I do like the fact that Treyarch is taking the game in a different direction instead of just reskinning/refining the original Black Ops.

EDIT - Original thread title said Black Ops II, not Black Ops Ii... Uneditable thread title is uneditable... what kind of communist website you runnin' here!

I'm usually one of the people that rolls their eyes when people trash CoD just because it's popular, but I'm not sure how I feel about this.

Kind of pisses all over the MW campaign, which I enjoyed, and the technology and storyline seem to be a tad too far out in left field for my liking for something that's supposed to be "hyperrealism" (as they put it)

I'll give it a rent just to see what it's all about, maybe even enjoy it, but will probably not be satisfied with what they've done to the series.

Think I'll spend my money on DICE's expansions for BF3 and maybe check out Medal of Honor. Haven't touched CoD in almost a year, and this new coat of paint they threw on it to fool people isn't anything that's going to make me go back to that trashy game....

COD4 and MW2 were simply put, amazing games that redefined massive multiplayer FPS titles on the current generation of machines....................................................................

and games like what BLOPS2 looks to be has got to be little more than a blatant cash-in on the COD name.

No more innovation, just the same exact recycled engine with tweaks here and there....

oh wait, am I in an EA SPORTS/ Madden thread? forgot where I was already

    • DC is way out of his league being a head coach. He’s shown no adaptability and therefore has no business calling plays. His ‘leadership’ style, I’m not quite sure what it is. I want to hire the Bobs so they can ask him “what would you say, ya do here?” He needs an alpha QB to mask his own innate deficiencies so he appears better than he truly is. He does not have that and everyone clearly sees that the emperor has no clothes.  Bryce is siren that has led an already unmoored franchise in to the rocks. There’s a 3 stooges metaphor in there somewhere, but I’ll leave that for someone else. I’m tired. All I keep hearing in my brain is Steve Miller Band take the money and run.  So yes, the trio of Evero, Bryce and Canales can all please just go. I’m tired of seeing wounded ducks flying and players who on most weeks look woefully unprepared and completely lost. I still hold firm in my feeling that talent does exist on this ‘team,’ but it is only by an individual effort that they have found any measure of success. VERY rarely does it feel cohesive in any way. It’s clunky and unpolished…. But it’s just how lost they look most of the time. What do they even do at practice?
    • It is hard to call him a bust with the issues at QB. Seeing a guy running open and being missed over and over doesn't make him a bust. He has made some tough catches and made some routine catches that were on target. He has also flubbed some routine plays as well. He is an inconsistent second year WR, but he is also playing with a wildly inconsistent and at times underperforming QB.
    • I’ll never forget when Mike Jackson complimented all of the WR’s with specific descriptions. When he got to XL he pretty much said “Well XL tries”. He legit couldn’t think of anything good to say about XL. Facts are you could see he was a bust last year. He just had the convenient “he’s a rookie excuse” built in. You could see it this year in training camp in all of the 1v1 videos with him running his clunky routes, no separation. The way he moves, the way he catches, his non existent  football IQ. Unfortunately he’s not an NFL WR. I’ll always have a hard time taking Dan Morgan seriously for taking XL and Brooks b2b.
