Charles Johnson Must Go He Hates The Fans

Can't blame the guy for his comment, that was corny. Truth hurts OP.

On a side note from this stupid thread I've met Charles before & he is a really nice guy. I ran into him waiting in a checkout line at the Northlakes Mall. He commented on the SVT Cobra t-shirt I was wearing & we chatted about cars for a few minutes. I didn't mention anything about the Panthers or acknowledge that I recognized him so I doubt he realized I knew who he was.

One of my good friends is a pitcher for the SF Giants & I know what he goes through in SF & at home in the offseason. I've met numerous players before but I never mention football or ask for a photograph/autograph. You have to respect them as human beings & give them privacy. If you want a picture or autograph get it when they're walking to the stadium/practice or at training camp. Not when they are at a restaurant eating dinner with their family or at the grocery store.

SN03 I 100% agree with you!

I met Jack Nicholson once (at a Lakers Game) and he was a very funny cool guy. Never did I ask for an autograph or talk about movies with him. We just talked about the Game. He was like a normal person but then some people started asking for pictures with him & stuff like that.... He just walked away. I'm sure they thought he was a jerk but I think anyone would have done the same when you can't enjoy something b/c everyone wants a piece of you.

A lot of athletes & stars are like that. I was in NYC this past summer & saw Derek Jeter in Manhattan. He was standing outside a hotel talking to the crowd gathered around him until a grown man came up to him with a pen & jersey. You could tell it pissed Jeter off, he told him no & walked away to go back into the hotel. When he turned to go inside he saw a little boy, probably 5 or 6, standing behind him with a yankee hat on holding a sharpie & baseball. Jeter immediately stopped, bent down, smiled & said "Hey buddy", signed the boys baseball, & gave him a pat on the back. I thought that was absolutely incredible & showed what it's all about. Derek Jeter seriously gets it & I have a ton of respect for him now.

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
