cause he easily beat out his competition, he was handed the job?

I think you have no place calling anyone dumb.

They literally started him at RT on the first day of minicamp before he even played a snap against anyone. I know this is hard, but stop being a complete retard.

Otah was a cyborg beast at Pitt. He put his guy on the ground something like 30% of the snaps there. He earned a first day round one grade in the draft by busting his ass in college. And yes, Tackles taken in the top half of the first round are expected to start.

So to say he did not earn it is ignorant. He earned a start before he was drafted. He will earn his spot this year. SOme of you idiots just don't understand what IR stands for I guess. He has not been challenged partly because there was not a need to challenge him and frankly it would take another first round talent to do so. His injuries while unfortunate were also prolonged by coming back a bit early hence the elongated rest this past time and the ultimatum to put up or shut up.

You clowns that say he is washed up, lazy, bust, or whatever are f-cking stupid. If he is healthy and WHEN HE HAS BEEN healthy, he has been money and there is no reason to expect anything but money this season.

cause he was the best player. You and others acted like he was handed the job.

He was drafted to be a starter. his competition didn't beat him out. if they did, both you and your brother woild have claimed he was a wasted pick.

Keep the name calling up. It's cute.

this is a great pic. Two men following up THE man. The more I get used to seeing Riv as our head coach the more I like it and the more I hope this picture is symbolic of how the team leaders are getting behind him as THE leader of this franchise.

It seems he has just the right mixture of fire, loyalty, PR-polish, and brutal honesty that I admire in people, especially those that are in charge of others. I did not mean for this to be a Riv gush but this pic speaks to me. Thanks for posting.

Excellent post dude. I'm right there with you on what I see in this pic. The attitude and mentality is on full display in the body language. Maybe it's just me, but in this pic I can just "see" the respect that Beason has for Rivera. And also can't help but thinking of these three, in this same pose (minus football gear) busting into a bar ready to fug up some poo.

Bad asses.

Clearly a lot of people on this board are accustom to only giving it everything they got when "it matters"

For those saying it's just OTA's, here is Cam's take.

"We need to take full advantage of the OTAs, because this time last year I was just working out every single day with just a couple of pages to go by," Newton said.

Brandon Marshall had a similar take saying that the off season is where games are won and lost.

Call me crazy but it seems more than just OTA's to these guys.

No one has said he is washed up, lazy, or a bust in this thread.

Unfortunately the huddle is known to take things out of context.

Otah is a really good player when healthy, it's not his fault he is hurt, injuries happen. However, he is being challenged this year like he has never been challenged before and only an idiot would refuse to believe that.

who said he isn't being challenged this year?

do you even think at all when you post?

in this thread it has been stated that he never earned his spot. Clearly that is bullsh-t. I just pointed it out for those among us that are challenged in the reading comprehension department (this means you btw). People would never post that he never earned his spot without thinking he is washed up, lazy or a bust (unless they are dumber than originally assessed which I guess is possible).

..before I just thought you might be an idiot. I'm not sure you are full blown idiot still, but I do know you do a lot of backpedaling and talking out of each side of your mouth. These qualities alone make you pretty much useless on a message board so maybe you should look for a new outlet for your teen angst. That's my suggestion anyway.

Can you even read lol?

You know what, you may be challenged too.

Mentally challenged.

Once again, if Frank Omiyale is considered competition to you, then let's just look at where Omiyale is now. Frank is now a back-up for Seattle and has hopped from four different teams (Atlanta, Carolina, Chicago, and now Seattle) because he is not good enough to secure a stable position on a roster.

Also, how can you become washed up after only starting 29 games in a four year career? He hasn't even started enough games to have two complete seasons under his belt. If anything, he should finally be fresh now that he is (according to Otah) at 100%.

Instead of talking crap and pretending like you actually know something, do a little research and quit trying to use personal attacks to try and prove a point. It makes you look like an immature douche who sucked on his moms *** to long and got drunk off the breast milk.

I don't know what the issue is with Otah, but there's always seemed to be something beyond him just being hurt.

Rivera's comments on Otah recently were very telling:

"Nobody's getting anything there," Rivera said. "Byron Bell did a hell of a job for us. We know what Jeff's capable of. ... It's up to Jeff. If Jeff wants to come back and be a huge part of it, it's on him. He's got to do the things we ask him to do. He's got to do them the right way."

Uh, wow... HELLO!

Rivera is smart, he's taking the opportunity to send a very clear message to Otah with comments like these.

Whatever the issue is, I hope Otah can pull it together and fulfill his potential.

    • It is all confusing and layered. SB is the cash you get very soon within weeks or in simple terms, its what you get to sign the paper work. Players and agents can agree on contract but what to "wait" to sign......teams don't like that cause you can "Carlos Boozer" yourself. In order to get that ink dry, while keeping the contract the same, portion it as a bonus to "sign" and get the funds with ________ .   * But Ive seen worded contracts that split the SB or a 20% to a later date. The beans counters can fill in the details about why certain dates are better and save the team money.. Theres tricks to the trade and accounting is full of them.    Ugh another big layer, is SB can be used to manipulate cap and players. Ill try to give a example that makes enough sense. Believe it or not having a owner like Tepper is a cheat code for this. He has cash in hand, where as Mark Davis had problem making pay roll and had to move the team to Vegas....... Tepper can give you 100,000,000 SB right now and the team can spread out the cap hit. Another owner doesn't have or want to give the player 100,000,000 in cash, but offered the same guaranteed contract in roster bonuses fully guaranteed over the next few years........ Which one do you want??? Everyone wants the money now, not before another inflation waves hits in 2 years. So it does 'pay" to have a owner like tepper that's able to have real cash on hand, while it also works GREAT for cap help. Heres a good video, if you can stand coked up pat and mask look-a-like AJ
    • I don't know. CMC is like others and may have lip serviced that line of " I had no plan or wanted to leave Carolina" I think he even said he bought a house too and wanted this to be home.   Here's what I heard- In a way Panthers org gave him a test and he didn't "fight" back. They approached CMC and told him they wanted to put him on IR since the "season" was over or out of playoff reach. CMC didn't fight it one lick and agreed. They secretly wanted him to kept playing or want to, but there was no kickback. I honestly don't know if its real or not, 5th hand information type deal doing on. Yes he had bruises and pains, but was able to play...... but went along with Panthers staff. Odd to be playing games with star players, but whatever....   Plus the staff doctors found out about his tendinitis and there was nothing to fix it. Even with him missing time, it was the best move to trade him before he got inflamed constantly.    Lastly, its mostly time a combo of stuff, Fitterererere did not sign him to be the highest paid RB. That was classic Marty "give me a" herniay doing. GMs have different values on roster spots and rumor was Fitterererer was one that didn't want to pay RBs. For all his faults, he's right about that......
