Who Would You Replace

Recommended Posts

I don't think any of the remaining free agents are guaranteed bids to replace even most of our backups. I think we will be set at safety between the 2 guys signed this offseason. Most of us don't believe in our DTs, but our superbowl winning coach seems to think we are alright there, so I'll trust him on this. Our linebacking corps should be fine, if not exceptional. Hardy is already solid and Alexander can only make that position better. Our Oline received upgrades and depth across the board (I actually saw this as a direct need, and it was addressed). There are no starting quality corners on the market, we are better off letting Munnerlyn/Norman/Hogan battle it out for that #2 position.

The only thing I can think of is our second tight end and it's looking like shockey would still be the best man for that job. I think alot of what shockey produced will be mitigated to tolbert, but he'd still be a nice little extra piece. Good leader too.

I'd want a pass rushing DE if there's one available. Not a knock on Hardy or the other guys, but if you can get a certified #2 on the other side of Johnson that will get more than 7 sacks a season, I think that would be good.

Wouldn't mind Andre Carter.

    • He’s also 21 years old. I don’t know why fiz is so eager to label him a bust
    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
