To be clear, Sony doesn't make the 2k Sports version. They develop the MLB The Show version for the PS3 only.

Oh I know but the show is the better game so I didn't acknowledge 2k in the discussion. Don't get me wrong though NBA 2k is awesome.

How does one cheat? I'm not familiar with online play.

Probably referring to the Nano Blitz and other things like that. Maybe running certain plays that work because of the games flaws etc.

MLB2k is now more than likely defunct. Their contract ran up this year and they have reported lost money on the title on this years product.

I haven't bought 2K version of baseball in forever. The Show is just such a superior game in every way IMO. I friggin love The Show and basically play it everyday until Madden comes out.

If we could we would just play older versions with the newer rosters.. that's the problem .. we can't . EA's create a player limits prevent realistic editing to be done since default player ages and heights can't be changed. Therefore we are forced to buy the same hot garbage every year just to play the game correctly. It'd be different if you could endlessly create people, but you can't. The limit is like 60.

So no .. we arn't just gonna "get over it" we will continue to bitch and moan and bitch and moan until we can play a game that doesn't suck.

What if you could only have one kind of car insurance because one insurance company bought the rights to it all and you had to pay some outrageous price for a plan that will never change regardless of how much you hate it. Would you just sit there quietly or would you bitch about it?

Car insurance (at least in Cali) is mandatory by law. Wanting a video game to be exactly how you want it isn't exactly the same.

Nothing in the world is exactly the same .. but it's a good analogy because as you said insurance is mandatory. Just like buying a new madden if you want correct rosters is also mandatory. I never said it's crap because it's not exactly how I want it . I said it's crap because you are forced to buy it every year because of the number limit they put on creations.

It's safe to say that If I could edit the rosters the way I should be able to. I would probably play 09 and be pascified until someone else can make a football game.

You only get one side onside kick so that it CANNOT be abused... Madden is my favorite video game ive got over 500 games logged in on Madden 12 99% of my games played as panthers, while it can be flukey at times it is the closest I will get to real football for quite some time now.

Until they patched it..it had a 75% chance of recovery no matter who you control on the recovery team. So you know its happening..and there is an invisible force holding you as the gunner is falling on the ball for the recovery..it only has to happen once to be BS.

I love Madden but suprise onsides and a weather glitch in online franchise were the two main contributions.

Madden is junk everyone knows that. How? Because ESPN destroyed them and they knew it. After a few years of significantley being better in every aspect of Madden, Madden bought the lisence, knowing the 2k series was about to rip them apart with better, more involved gaming that blew Madden away. ESPN was no more, but not before Madden stole their layout and style which is still used in Madden games today. Makes it even more sickening the same poo they pump out every year, they actually stole. :(

Why are we still here discussing it? Because Madden is all there is and so if we love NFL football and games, it is really all there is but we still have the right to call it junk and garbage, because we know if the rights were bought another company would trump Madden, we have the right to call it garbage because we are forced to play it, and that is how Madden makes most it's money. Luckily for EA my love for the panthers SLIGHTLY over rules my hate for EA buying that lisnece back in the day and taking away my beloved ESPN and any other competition.

Can you imagine an actual company who cared about things like audience/player looks/comentary/gameplay/everything making the NFL games? It is NOT hard to see it could be much much better.

They need to rotate develoupers like COD. If youre going to release a game EVERY year with only one develouper eventually things get shitty and lackluster, worst of all the feeling of knowing it could be so much better but greed says otherwise.

I think the guy misunderstood where I was coming from. I don't game nearly as much as I used to, but I still do. Sports games like FIFA, NCAA, and Madden are what I grew up on. I used to be one of those guys who would go get Madden and NCAA at gamestop for the midnight launch. those days are over with my friend.

Madden is half of what it used to be. It sucks now. It's the reason why I bitch about it because I USED to enjoy playing it.

Like I said earlier, if you get madden (or NCAA) a month into it's release you are foolish. EA pushes through an incomplete game and then releases a patch a month later that addresses the little, BS problems they should have fixed to begin with. Instead of tweaking the bullshit, minor bugs and issues, they just add some gay new feature that the user has to get used to and still deal with bugs/issues from the previous games.

And not to mention Madden is almost unplayable online. All it takes is for some nerd with no job and no life to sit in front of his xbox every day and he'll eventually exploit some stupid bug that EA "forgot" to fix before the release and cheese the fug out of you. When I run into those players online, I quit. It's to the point now where I only play people I know online.

Competition would be great for Madden.

Look at the NBA2K series and what it did for basketball games. Many consider NBA2k12 to be one of the best sports games ever made! It's basically knocked that bullshit NBA Live out of business and forced EA to "re-examine" the series and improve it.
