Does anybody on this forum coach football?

I coach on the youth level and I hope to get into high school next year. I called every youth program and asked if I could help but I've hit a wall moving up because I do not know anyone on the high school level. I get the impression that some teams think I am a spy, I don't know why I feel this way but I could tell by their body language that they were not fond of the idea of me helping. I heard parents tell their children not to listen to the white coach, me, and to only do what the black coaches tell them. I took a few years off because of this, I couldn't believe that parents would act this way and I heard it more than once.

This would be a good strategy. Look for a team that has undergone a quick turnaround.

I found this on Maxpreps.com

I would apply for a job on their JV staff if you have no experience.

I don't like you, so you have been added to the list of people I hate. I never said I coached the team, I helped out, I never said anything about girls but hold on.

Best thing to do is to go talk to the Athletic Directors at the schools, tell them your plan, and they'll usually give you like a quality control position, from there, you kind of hold on your destiny.

I had a friend who I played with in HS that got a job coaching at a HS here in Charlotte and I volunteered to help. Eventually they offered me a paying position but I turned it down because it would have conflicted with my real job.

I help coach a Pee Wee team in Archdale NC for 7-8 yr olds. I did not coach when my son played his first year at age 7. During practice the 7/8 scrimmaged against the 9/10 yr olds while the kids that are not so good sat and watched on the sidelines, mostly goofing off. I would hear parents grumble on the sidelines about their kids not getting to participate. The next year I decided I wanted to coach and help with the new kids during practice. I approached the head coach of the league and he thought it was a great idea. That was last year and I had a blast even though my son who was the QB and MLB of the 7/8 yr olds tore his ACL during practice after the first game last year. Although, my son could not play, I still coached and he attended every practice the rest of the year. He had ACL reconstruction last December in Boston and has been released to play sports again this year. He had football camp this past Saturday and is starting summer basketball tonight. Tomorrow is the six month anniversary since surgery.

Minus seeing your kid go through an injury coaching is a special gift you can give back to kids. FYI... I teach the young kids how to hit using a Beach ball.

You seriously have nothing better to do in your life than to troll a message board for months on end and you expect us to believe anything you say? Much less that you have ever played any sport in your life?
