Redskins letting RG3 run things over there

Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III played with receiver Josh Gordon at Baylor. And Griffin would like to play with Gordon in Washington.

Griffin is pushing the Redskins brass hard to select Gordon in Thursday’s supplemental draft, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS.

If Griffin is desperate to play with Gordon again, he’s not saying so publicly. Asked by HogsHaven.com whether Gordon can succeed in the NFL, Griffin didn’t sound overly enthusiastic about Gordon’s chances.

“I mean, it’s up to him,” Griffin said. “Whether he wants to make it or not. I can’t say whether he’s going to be successful or not be successful. It’s just to him and what he wants to do to leave his legacy.”

The Redskins also seem like an unlikely team to use a pick on a wide receiver because they have already added free agent receivers Pierre Garcon and Josh Morgan this offseason. And Gordon’s off-field issues might scare off coach Mike Shanahan.

So while it’s useful to the Redskins’ personnel department to have Griffin’s input in assessing whether Gordon is worth giving up a 2013 draft pick to acquire, that doesn’t mean a Griffin-Gordon reunion is likely.

panthers relevant exactly how?

Who gives a flying rats ass about anything redskins?

Speaking of, when exactly is it in the offseason that this forum goes from being open to all NFL topics back to strictly Panthers-related posts? When TC starts? Preseason? Regular season?

    • KP is not a straight up carbon copy but they look awful close to me.  T
    • You are right. At the same time I don’t think people are watching games going come on Bryce put it on the ground or sail it OB or whatever. They just have trouble seeing him turning his 3 or four or five top games of 2025 into the weekly standard outing. Which you expect for the kind of money he will ask for (speaking for myself anyway).
    • In terms of comparing Pickett and Young's arm talent it's basically a push at best. Pickett is sitting at 6.2 yards per pass attempt for his career while Bryce sits at 6.0 Last season Bryce was 6.3 in yards per pass attempt. Only Justin Fields Spencer Rattler (both 6.2) Kyler Murray (6.0) 41 year old Joe Flacco (6.0) 44 year old Phillip Rivers (5.9) rookie Cam Ward (5.9) and Tyrod Taylor (5.8) had less pass yards per attempt than Bryce Young in his third season as a starter. Folks going around acting as if it is beyond the pale to say Pickett might have a better arm than Young are living in an alternate reality. You can choose to not believe your own eyes after 46 games but everyone else will acknowledge reality and move forward accordingly.
