Run-blocking ability is very underappreciated for a WR...especially for a team with a strong run game like ours. But he wouldn't really be utilized in the run-game unless he's our #1 or #2 WR...perhaps occasionally if he plays the slot, but if we have 3+ WRs on the field, chances are we're passing the ball.

You guys will like Murphy -- he's smart, fast and was the Raider's best WR for his first two seasons. Then, he had his injury thing and, when the Raiders drafted guys like Ford and Moore, he got lost in all of the noise. Everything that I've seen says that he's a heck of a nice guy and a hard worker, I'll miss him in a Raider uniform and wish him the best.

Cam is going to bring out the best in this man. Not calling Superbowl or 1000 yards but if he can stay healthy, and I believe he can, he will be at least better than Nannee.

He's 10x better than Nannee. I have higher hopes in Murphy than Lafell.

I dnt care but I'm like the only one who's not as high on Lafell and Gettis. I'm sticking to my words.

I see him in the slot with LaFell and Smitty on the outside. After watching that video it seemed like every route was underneath. Even the few he went deep on it looked like he was lined up inside and did a little slant (like an Olsen deep route). I could be wrong because the video quality was extremely poor on my phone, but that's how it looked to me. Lots and lots of underneath routes.

Down at first contact is still better than Legadu, who tended to dive like a QB in the open field.

You know, the irony is, Naanee had really good measureables. In spite of that, he was the most awkward looking wide receiver I have ever seen. It's like he just couldn't get his body to do what his mind told him. It would have been laughable had it not been hurting us on the field.

This guy is hands down better than Naanee.

    • If we don't go OT, we will regret it.  What bothers me?  Are we going to get a starting-caliber OT at 19?  I think the draft is solid at OT, and the more I read up and watch video, the more I watch Lomu, the more I want him.   I see Freeling as a RT who needs some work in run blocking (since we need to run first, maybe not a good fit) and I see Proctor ending up as a Guard.  After Lomu (assuming Mouigia and fanu are gone), I think we wait until round 2.  In round 2, there are about 3-4 I like (Zuhn--good pass blocker and VERY underrated right now; Tiernan is a very good pass blocker as is Miller from Clemson, but both are not good in the run game.  Max Ixxxxx from Ariz St is impressive too---technically, there is not a of difference in these second tier guys--good in pass pro, need work in the run game.   If we wait until round 2 for an OT, we probably need to sign Nijman and start him early.   I almost think this is what we should do if Lomu is gone.  There is a big dropoff after him, imo, and I think we'd get better value if a stud ILB or edge is there.  Someone like TJ Parker Clemson makes sense. If Lomu is gone, trading back might be the play.
    • And what is x gunna help with except show him what not to do. Plus for the first year and a half he was just an obstacle
    • I understand that some people want WR. I am solidly against using yet another high pick there. Coker is pretty good and we used No picks on him.  What I think we really need at WR is a little bit of a Smitty lite. It is ridiculous to say let’s get a Smitty because you just can’t do that, but someone not tall and long striding but more in his mold. I think we’d have a pretty well rounded group.    Looking at tackle, with replacing Moton looming, it just seems like the no brainer.  You fill in Icky short term. Depending on how he recovers, and how the new guy plays, you go from there. A tackle at 19 is most likely either a LOT, a ROT, or a big talented guard, at worst. We will need all three in the next couple of years.  I would love to have a stud ILB be there at 19 but the OL is the responsible thing to do I believe.
