Need a Concrete Engineer

Ja Rhule

Recommended Posts

It rained 2 hours after builder poured slab for my to be home, we bitch about it to regional manager and my builder agreed to pay for someone to test it. I have no idea who does it... Any ideas?

Contact a geotechnical consulting firm. PM sent for a local guy I know.

Bastard.

It will probably cost somewhere in $300 range. Just have to check if top layer as strong as it should be. It will probably take no more than 30 minutes. I read everywhere that concrete can weaken due rain and start flaking within first 5 years.

I will have hardwood floors all over the house... this will ruin the whole flooring if it flakes.

That is pathetic, you need to run away or lawyer up!

Its not my concrete, it's just an example of flaking concrete, sorry. My concrete actually looks nice but I don't want to take any chances. The builder might be right for all I know. That's why I want to make sure.

Make sure builder put in vapor barrier beneath slab. With a 3000 psi pour you should expect to see about 70% strength after one week, so you should see about 2100 psi now. There is a test called a Schmidt test/Schmidt hammer that is an easy way to test. PM sent again.

Get the fug out of this contract. There are hundreds of homes for sale that were built well.

Why would you say that he should get out of the contract or question the build? The builder is doing the correct thing by paying to have it tested. Raining after the concrete was poured was beyond his control.

Now, if he refused to have it tested I would say you might have an issue. Or, if an issue comes from the inspection and the builder refuses to correct it.

Unless....you thought the pictures were actually of his concrete.

After reading all the things that have gone on during this build I would not feel comfortable moving into that house. It is a huge investment/loan to undertake if you have doubts in your mind.

His woman must love the house/location and is pushing him into this house, jeez guys don't you know how things like this work? :D

    • Oh I was.  But we still had great players.
    • You keep AT unless he WANTS to get traded to a contender during the season.  He's valuable, TET, XL, and Coker need to learn how to be PROFESSIONALS on game day, practice, and the off-season.  That's what you get from AT.  ADDITIONALLY, he is clutch.  He is steady.  At is that savvy vet who will always flash. I really think they keep 7 WR's if Brycen can operate on special teams.  Week 1 you may see us heavy on WR and OL because of the massive amount of injuries across the league.  Renfrow may even be cool starting on the PS since he lives close and wouldn't need to uproot his family.  You can still make nearly 400K as a vested veteran on an NFL practice squad.  You see more veterans hanging around since the age limit was lifted. I think the 1st 53 and PS looks like so...... Offense: (25) QB (2) Young / Dalton RB (3) Chuba/Rico/Etienee WR (7) T-Mac/XL/AT/Coaker/Renfrow/JHjr/Brycen TE (3) Tremble/Sanders/Evans OL (10) Icky/Lewis/Corbett/Hunt/Moten/Brady/Mayes/Yosh/Zavala/Kingston Defense: (25) DL: (6) Brown/Robinson/Turk/Bobby B/Cam Jackson/Sam Roberts OLB: (5) Wonnom/PJ2/NicSic/Princely/Incoon ILB: (5) Rozeboom/TW/Windmon/Cherelus/Bam CB: (5) Horn/MJ/CSW/Thorton/Evans S: (4) Tre'Mo/Ransom/Demani/Scott Specialists: (3) JJ/Fitz/Martin Last spot: Right now I have it as a toss up between DJ Johnson and Bam.  Until NicSic can come back we need an extra edge.  Do we utilize TW more as a blitzer from the middle to keep Bam safe?  I'm not worried about DJJ getting picked up from another team, a little more concerned with Bam. Practice Squad: DavidMoore/JamesMitchell/JacolbyGeorge/Tuttle/Crumdley/Ray/DJJohnson/Kantra/Carter/Blacksheer/ Wright/KrysBarnes/MichaelReid/Safety pick up/RB pick up/QB pick up
