The only bonus he got this year was a $100,000 workout bonus.

If we dump Mare we will have at least a 3 million dollar hit just from the signing bonus that accelerates to this year if we cut him unless we spread it out over 2 years.

Even if we took it all this year, it's no big deal. His salary is $2,100,000, so we would have to take a hit of less than a million. Spread it out over 2, and it has a positive impact.

If Mare makes the team, it will not be due to financial considerations. It will be because they think he is the best option.

It is pretty much irrelevant how Mare did in TC.

We know how he does in games. He's pretty damn unreliable past 40 and will choke under that in big moments. But he gets mostly touchbacks. Yipee.

Despite what many of you guys think, it is completely possible that Medlock could be even worse than that. I hope not, but it is possible. Let's at least wait until he gets on some pads before we cut Mare. ;)
