IDK i liked Citizen Kane better then Vertigo but i couldn't say its the greatest film ever. My taste changes from time to time. A Face In The Crowd is high on my list along with Once Upon A Time In The West.

I just like older films better. I believe the acting is much better for the most part and also i think that after awhile everyone is pretty much copying what has already been produced. Its like todays music, it sucks for the most part.

Man, I still have yet to see Citizen Kane, but I concentrated in media studies, so I'm supposed to, lol.

My favorites are The Departed, Rudy, Unbreakable, Crash, The Dark Knight come to mind right now for relatively recent films in terms of cinematography and drama. Comedies deserve their own "best list."

The Shining and Full Metal Jacket we well composed too, but in the case of FMJ, it wasn't that great of a plot.
