Butthurt? He has never made an NFL catch.

yeah, i myself am eagerly anticipating another stellar year of him getting out of the field and running around like a real WR to not have anything land in his hands and for him to be that solid PR guy that always catches the ball and then falls on the ground.

ugh.

dwayne jarrett was more productive.

I'm going to stop shitting up the twitter thread with AE argument though. I just wanted to point out that the butthurt will be strong when he makes the team, and based on the anti AE brigade coming out in force, this observation is right on point.

Talent doesn't mean poo. If he outperforms one of those six, and the coaches think he can perform better in a game, then he will make the team over one of them. Saying "it doesn't matter what he does" is complete mularky, because if he does better than other receivers he's going to make the team. The coaches don't hold personal grudges or biases like our fanbase.

grudge? against a guy who has been on the roster doing absolutely nothing for two years?

so people shouldn't be pissed about having a guy that has talent up a roster spot for two years that has absolutely nothing to show for it? they shouldn't be upset at the idea of him being on the roster for another year doing the same thing hes done since he got here? lol

Those six haven't showed that talent in camp! :o

Ok then, where does he fit?

Smith, LaFell, Pilares and Adams are locks.

He's never produced as a WR during games, where Murphy and Gettis have. Hell, Tutu has shown more as an actual receiver during real games and has been alternating with Murphy as the #3 getting first team reps. We just drafted a replacement PR because he's horrible at it.

More power to the guy, but I don't see where he fits.

Edit: Just realized I was replying to Hokebuck. FML.

Pretty sure I said that I was done cluttering up this twitter thread arguing over something that doesn't matter. No one is going to change mine or your mind on this topic except the eventual outcome. I was just pointing out that when he makes the team, which I believe that he will, that the meltdown is going to be of epic proportions. Whether you want to admit that you have an anti-Armanti bias for one reason or another is irrelevant. If he makes this team it's because the coaching staff believes that he can contribute more than the other WR's that they brought in to compete. Rivera has not show any favoritism towards other wastes of space and if AE makes the team it's because Rivera has plans on using his as a WR.

I don't think AE makes this team as a PR or ST player. If he makes the team they are going to use him as the 3rd or 4th WR option. He's not going to make the team as the 5th or 6th WR on the depth chart as those spots will go to Adams and Pilares as they will be used primarily as returners.

    • I agree with this and I think it's worth mentioning too that Bryce is not consistent on his placement and especially velocity and that in large part is driven by his footwork. We all know XL doesn't have the best hands and I don't know that he can overcome that. Cam always had the heater that just hit your hands and sank into your grip, where Bryce has some that are harder thrown, some soft. Bryce stepping into a pass looks so much different than that hop throw thing he does. I think XL really needs to hit the jugs machine and start learning how to catch all these different touch passes. TMac and Coker don't have these issues. If XL doesn't get some work in he's going to be out of the league in the next couple of years.
    • I think most people like XL from a personal standpoint. I don't think he's stupid either. Although if we are being realistic he is lacking in football IQ at this point in time and it cannot be disputed that he has not taken working on his craft seriously at all times given the body of work on the field. It speaks for itself. I myself have defended him at times given the circumstances of our QB room. But he is now in his third year and 25 years old. We are not in a position as a franchise to go around babying anyone especially first round draft picks. He needs to take his position and his football career seriously or he is going to end up selling used cars somewhere. I hope he realizes this and takes an extended break from social media because that mess certainly isn't going to increase his net worth if he ends up out of the league. And these hanger on types will disappear quick too once that money dries up and it surely will eventually. We'll see how he responds.
