Embarrassed by Jerry Richardson again: He was one of the leaders to keep refs locked out

And generally those owners have winning teams. Amazing how that works, eh?

Yup. You notice the article mentions a few owners doing the opposite of Richardson, pushing for the deal to get done. Owners from the Giants, Patriots and Falcons, teams that actually care about putting a quality product on the field.

Jerry Richardson cares about one thing and that's money. He's a tight-assed Montgomery Burns. Good luck spending your piles o' green in the great beyond JR.

Back to this crap again. Go check the contracts that he has given to the players on this team. The Panthers are always at the top of spending in the NFL.

The ignorance on this board is just amazing.

I can get why a fan would be upset with their owner when they question the approach they take in how they run the team they are fanatical about. What I don't understand is the embarrassment. How can you be embarrassed by such a thing? Where do you go or what do you do where such a feeling of embarrassment materializes? Those are some strange life priorities if you align who you are with your team so much that a business decision of the team owner creates a feeling of embarrassment. I watch the Panthers and follow them closely, but they aren't me and I'm not them.

People who have no life or very little life outside this MB or the Panthers.

Quite sad.

JJR is smart enough to know that if the product on the field isn't "quality," he stands to lose money. To say he doesn't care about the quality of the product is absolutely ridiculous. (And, I believe he cares about it more than the money.)

LMAO. Hatter still dont got the heart to call out his "idol". I bet you wish you were Jerry Richardson huh?

Just like the man could walk on water and cure the sick.....but you would hate him because he is white.

I actually gain solice knowing that you and I don't agree. I would fuging kill myself if I EVER got to the point that I thought like you.

The only reason you're defending him is because he's white. You go in on Bobcats front office all the time, but with JR all we get is "he's a smart businessman who's had a good life". 4 winning seasons out of 16. We havent had a winning record since 2008. And all you can say is "he's a great businessman". You're a coward Hatter who picks his battles based on race. Even MrTD who trashes the Bobs front office all the time admits the Panthers front office is a mess.

The Bobcats are a failing business.

Again, this isn't complicated.

this thread went places

I just want Hatter to know everyone on the board is hip to his BS. And sees his double standards towards the 2 pro sports front offices in Charlotte. Its OK to rip the Bobcats for months and months at a time over their mistakes. But when the Panthers make blunders we supposed to be quiet, we not supposed to criticize JR. We supposed to praise his business acumen even though our team is trash.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
