Pumpkinrot is awesome! I usually go there and just wish. I could make the stuff, I'm good at creating stuff, I'm just too lazy.

There are things on my list that are more important right now. I wish I had more time and energy to spend on halloween this year.

I love Halloween! I haven't gone all out decorating since the kids got bigger.

Yea - Rot is committed year round - always keeps me motivated to see his posts in the off months! Creating a new prop each year is always a goal for me, but sometimes I am way too busy as well.

I have an idea of what I want to do this year (if I have the time) and will post progress to keep this thread around for the next 4 weeks :).

Happy October everyone!

I'm a nut when it comes to Halloween. I see October 1st as the start of the Halloween season. Every year I create a new prop. Whether it be an animatronic, ground-breaker, etc...

Thinking on making a zip-line, mat-triggered witch this year, but I will need significant fog to mask the line - I will post my progress.

Anyone else as into the 31st as I am?

You remind me a lot of my neighbor when I lived in Huntersville. He was a huge Halloween junkie and his yard/house was incredible. He had animatronics, zip lines, sound, fog machines, etc... He built his front yard into a massive and elaborate graveyard. Then he built his backyard into a haunted trail for the kids and hired some of the teenagers in the neighborhood to work it.

He had people from all over the area that used to come in jsut to see it. He added pieces every year, so there was always something new.

Very cool to be that into it.

We do the same in our neighborhood. Everyone carries or pulls their cooler. Tehre are about 10 houses that replenish our stash as we move through the neighborhood. Dads like to stay out longer than the kids.

That's great! It's a really fun seasonal thing to get into -- I hope the kids I intend to scare are as into as I was at their age.

Trying to finally succeed at a Pepper's Ghost this year. The past 2 years, the illusion works if nobody wanders to the other side of the porch and sees the effect, so I'm thinking of a live distraction on top of a lightning machine that should keep them at bay.
