A Fair Look At Cam...

If you do something stupid at your job does it get corrected?

Considering my lack of experience I ask more questions than most and take more time to do tasks than most, in an effort to complete my tasks in a thorough and accurate manner I avoid most large scale mistakes. That being said, through effort alone if a mistake is made I am confident my "employer" would more than understand. Unfortunately, my job isn't technically a job..yet. I do think there is an amount of expected growing pains..that is why they have an internship and paid internship program for graduate students entering into my field. People mature differently and at different speeds though talent level may be on par or better than those with experience.

Unfortunately, Cam's paid internship as it were..is his real job.

I think he needs to mature, and those things need to be corrected, but at the same time it cannot be completely unexpected for a 23 year old. IMO.

I know I am in the minority, but I feel Cam's few mistakes (fumble, not hurrying up and failing to run the play before a review flag is thrown) and his corny touchdown celebrations stem from the same thing... immaturity.

Good news is time will most likely fix the issue.

Does Rodgers have the same immaturity with his (celebrated widely enough to get a State Farm parody/endorsement) corny Touchdown dance?

Will he eventually grow out of it?

Once Cam wins a superbowl I may be ok with it.

Hell, once he has had a winning record I may be.

Until then, some humility would go a long way.

You don't watch sports much.

Humility in the press conference is fine, it's all fake anyway, and cam has shown that.

But great players need supreme confidence, even arrogance, to become great.

Another thing, cam is a young black man who is from Atlanta. I don't think he had to spend 15 minutes practicing the A-town stomp

Cam is the Lebron of football he'll never be the media darling MJ was....

Cam a star some of our fans still haven't got use to that the Superman is apart of his brand ...it's a reason Lebron, Wade and Brandon Jennings mocked him while playing against the Bobcats last year. he's a star and he's recognized by that as well

as being a special talent

I hope he never loses that confidence, swag its what makes him unique everybody loves his smile no homo and personality rather have that's type player as our face of the franchise then luck ..

ppl bringing up him being confident without us having winning record like he's the reason were losing when he's like one of the few bright spots on our entire squad since he was drafted

Deion Sanders called this predraft during that interview he said he can see why some ppl don't like him cause he's confident but primetime said as a player he loved it..if cam wont QB his celebrations , confidence wouldn't be a issue there's never been a flashy QB like him I hope he never changes let cam do him

Dear Zod,

People don't care about what Cam Newton did because Cam Newton did his job to help us win the game.

The only people who really care about his TD are delusional Falcon fans who spent the week pumping themselves up to troll about the "poor performance" they anticipated he would have because they've been media rainwashed, and needed something to attack after he failed to live up to their hopes.

Oh. And PS. Tell your boy J-Beasy to stop playing like a third stringer.

let's also remember that cam only does the TD celebrations when he gets it in the endzone for a rushing touchdown (like most running backs and receivers do when they're the player scoring the touchdown.) when cam throws for a touchdown he lets the receiver celebrate and hurries off to the sideline with little more than a fist pump or some high fives with the linemen.

i'm really not concerned.

    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
