As I have said before his biggest downfall has been him ignoring FA. He is a gambler and has gambled and lost. When you lose in the Draft you need to back it up in FA. I really do think our first pick was going to be Barron but the Bucs snatched him us so it left us with BPA. BPA really didnt help our problems though and I think thats why me and alot of other people had a problem with Keek.

It will help when Luke takes over MLB this Sunday....

Part of the reason I and others endorsed it was bc if the high odds Beason wouldn't be ready to play and be good. Beason isn't and now Luke gets his shot. Beason has hurt us

Luke is young but for a top 10 pick he has been underwhelming. Beason has been hampered by a shoulder injury also not the injury you said he never would recover from. The first round pick would have been better spent on a CB or DL and it has shown.

Who? Who should we have picked? And this is coming from a guy that wanted Fletcher Cox.

Beason has played like crap so far, and he's still hurt. If we didn't have Luke, we'd be in deep right now.

Kuechly has played very well for a rookie. The problem is, he's never on the field. For some reason, we think it's okay to throw a green rookie out on an island at #2 CB and at LG, but our top pick spends half of the game on the bench.

Cox,Couples, Kirkpatrick or the CB out of S.Carolina would have been a upgrade. Also there is a reason that Norman is starting and keek is not. I'm not the coaches so I'm not going to speculate but his role has decreased not increased the past 4 weeks.

Its not panic time yet we were a play or two away from being 2-2. Hey when we were at 1-1 doesnt that eliminate the non winning streak? Anyway next two games have to be won to salvage the season. If we lose both then Ill look to the draft.

We were a play or two away from being 11-5 last year as well. The difference between good teams and bad ones are the close games. I still say we end up 8-8 but no higher than that.

If you buy into this, it would basically mean that you think that 2001 was better than any of the past 4 seasons because we started off 1-0.

Nothing to buy into. Panthers haven't been over .500 for a very long time. It's just one of those stats. It's a factual thing.

It means we haven't been great over that time. It says nothing about 2001.

The reason why the 2001 stat is stupid is because it's not a trend. It's literally just one game. The other one is over the course of years and it's in comparison to the rest of the league. Nothing really manipulative about it because we know we have suc-- I mean, been rebuilding, for too long. The statistic is just more conformation for what we already know.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
