Is the James Anderson project over soon?

Recommended Posts

I don't really know too much about him, and never really saw him play except in limited pre-season work. The Panthers took him in the third round in 2006 as a weak side (Will) linebacker out of Virginia Tech. We could really use someone young to step into the strong side position that is held by Diggs.

Why hasn't this kid been used more there? Has anyone seen him play, and does he look like he may of been a bust, or has he progressed throughout the years here. Anyone with any kind of information as to how he has done so far and does it look are done developing him so far would be appreciated long time huddle fans. He looked like a solid prospect out of college with pretty good speed and strength.

Yeah, he was a damned fine player in college and a damned fine one for us last year late in the season in admitted limited access. I think he's ready to excel, he's certainly not a throwaway...

He definitely is fast and I have noticed him in passing situations some. He also did not suit up every game either last year. It will be hard for him to see a bunch of playing time as long as Davis is healthy, and even if he got hurt, not sure if Anderson would come in before Johnson either. Does anyone remember if it was weak or strong side where Connor was working out last year? If Connor was working weak side, then the Anderson era may be very limited, I hope he sticks around personally.

I just think we would be better suited giving someone playing time who can actually develop under it more. Diggs is past peaked and didn't Johnson's last year at Cinci he played MLB? I wish I would know more about Connor at one of the OLB positions, its time to find our starter of the future at SAM.

Last year during cuts, a lot of emphasis was put on ST, where he was needed. With so much young talent in camp this year, they may look to start devoloping some new guys. If thats the case, Anderson has to be one of the ones on the bubble.

diggs hasn't exactly peaked, he certainly doesn't have fresh legs but he's having a bit of a resurgance here in carolina, until somebody can unseat him he should be the starter

If I remember correctly, our starter was injured his rookie season I believe towards the end of the season, and he had a very good game against New Orleans. He had a 1 or 2 sacks and got a lot of pressure on the QB. I've always liked what I've seen from him, but I think despite his strength and speed, he may have problems on non-passing downs... That's the only thing I can figure as to why he doesn't get on the field.

    • Me, signing up for FanDuel Network, and then canceling FanDuel Network:
    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
    • Didnt Canales already say starters are playing in the pre season? either way extra reps dont hurt but im not one of those people that think playing in the pre season would have saved Bryce from an awful start.
