Can't defend Cam no more

Offseason: Cam is already an elite QB. He is definitely top 5.

Season: Cam is only in his second season, he is still learning. Why are you comparing him to elite QBs who have been in the leasgue for years.

Oh huddle how you make me laugh

I agree. The 49ers got their new coach last year, dealing with all the same lockout-imposed hardships that we did, and they're really good now. We are still barely even mediocre.

Since when is 1-4 mediocre?

That is flat out terrible.

Cameron always takes blame for his bad play and mistakes and never points the finger or calls any of his teammates out. He always points the finger at himself and himself ONLY publicly.

But wait, let's hear someone else spin that to try to prove Cam is only concerned about himself and doesn't care enough about his teammates to call them out in front of the media.

I thought that presser went much better than the Giants or Falcons one. You can tell he's maturing and learning how to deal with life as a starting NFL quarterback.

Cam kind of stormed off like a baby who had his toy taken away there at the end though

LOL I know dude, and did you see the way he was breathing and blinking his eyes like an immature jerk? And what's with those clothes? And how come he wrinkles his forehead so much when he's listening to questions? GOATCam, I'm glad we have loyal, dedicated, true fans like you in our fan base. Keep up the good work.

We passed on 4th and 1...

We passed on 4th and 1

We passed on 4th and 1

We PASSED on FOURTH and ONE

OUR QB IS CAMERON NEWTON AND WE PASSED ON 4TH AND 1

I couldn't believe it either. You have big money invested in three backs, and you have a 6'5 250 lb QB who has shown he will just jump over the defense for the TD, and you PASS?!?!??

I was being as generous as I possibly could be about our record. I agree; in fact, we're terrible. But subjectively, I think the highest compliment anyone could pay to our organization would be mediocrity.

I'm just calling it like I see it. I love Cam... just calling it like I see it.

If he is taking off season lessons from weinke, that has to be at least part of the problem. He just isn't the same this year. I never heard about peyton manning taking lessons from a washed up nobody. People like that can really put you into your head which can really screw you up. Cam is already infinitely better than weinke ever was and there is nothing weinke can teach him. If he wants to learn how to be a bad ass start working out with Michael Jordon. Seriously.

The first page was just sad, so I skipped to the last and its not much much better. I realize that he really screwed things up with the throw to the ground, but the throw isn't as easy as you'd think, that was(if I remember correctly, probably not, but whatever) a bit of throwing across his body while on the run, hoping to get it out of his hands before going out. If he would've gotten into Panthers' hands, then it would've been a spectacular throw, it just didn't happen this time unfortunately. I do agree that he played lackluster, especially how Olsen-blind he was for the longest time, i just wouldn't pin all of it on that one play.

    • A rookie that has never played a snap and a proven 1000K NFL WR are not going to be viewed the same in these type rankings.  And calling draft picks, lotto picks, isn't some new quip I just invented.  take the big 3 Hubbard, AT, insert whatever 3rd Panther you want vs Kamara, Hill, Olave.  Most football folks outside of Carolina are picking the Saints there IMO.
    • You didn’t really address the point, just like you ignored the point about the RBs initially, and saying “they are all lotto picks” is just a really silly reduction because you could say that about literally any player rookie or vet every snap, every game, every year. It is well known that different positions have different hit rates, and I would argue different types of prospects within position groups as well, and that hit rates change the further down in the draft you go. Everybody knows QB is different and that, for example, first round OL have a really high success rate. Using your lotto ticket analogy…again…you are saying a lotto ticket with a 1 in 100 chance of hitting is the exact same thing as a lotto ticket with a 1 in 2 chance of hitting (this is an example, don’t take these odds literally). The point was he is no more of a lotto ticket than the 31yr old receiver coming off a major knee injury, and in my opinion he is better odds with a higher potential “jackpot”. Saying one player is an “lotto ticket” while another isn’t is just not sound logic. You have no idea who will break out, regress, get injured, etc. There are safer bets than others, that’s all. I don’t think Diggs is a safe bet and even if he was, weighing him over all of the Panthers WRs plus 2 1k rushers is just dumb. You can disagree if you want. The list is stupid.
    • Yeah, this is all projections of how it will turn out. Inevitability this list will look ridiculous in a full 2025 sesson hindsight, most likely. Still, I am pretty surprised that so many bristled at being thought of as having very, very lowly ranked WR and TE units. We literally have been for years. All you have to do is just have things stay the same and those are immediately bottom 5 units. It is easy to see why one would be reticent to have lofty expectations in the preseason. Gotta show it first when you are a perennial cellar dweller. That's just life at the bottom.
