I was born to be a Panthers fan despite them not even being a valid thought until 10 years later. No offense to out-of-state fans, but this is my state. This is my team. I take pride in them. I feel they are an extension of myself. They represent me abroad whether they know it or not.

I've been through it all. 1-15. 2-14. 7-9s. 8-8s. All of it. Every year. I've watched every game. I set up my whole week around watching us play each Sunday. I've lost jobs due to them not giving me Sunday's off or not allowing me to come in later so I could see our games.

And through it all, I've never been this disappointed in our team. I've never been more let down. When we went 1-15 or 2-14, we all had an idea we were going to be bad those years. At the very least, we didn't expect the playoffs or Superbowl.

This year, we did. And we had a right to. We finally, after 16 years acquired a franchise QB. We finished with 6 wins last year. We loaded up with talent at certain spots such as WR, that were long neglected. We even made trades. We signed some stop-gap guys, that at the very least, should've been good "plug and play" players to get us to our destination.

We had multiple team leaders come out and say "We're winning the Superbowl." We made it through training camp virtually unscathed.

And now this.

Week after horrible, lackluster, mundane, mediocre week. We don't beat teams we SHOULD beat, and we lose to teams that we shouldn't. We find new ways to lose each week. Our coach(es) is out to lunch while on the job. Our owner is Mr. Status Quo. An old-fashioned, dated, control freak.

And here we are again... Scrapping and scraping to figure out if we could still somehow make the playoffs if we get it together... Just like we do every year at this point (minus four)... But, we won't get it together. It's not being pessimistic, it's being factual. We never do and we never have - except for those four winning seasons.

We had high expectations. Possibly higher than ever going into a season. But, the problem is, we have a losing culture established that is in direct conflict with those or any other expectations we set as fans.

This is rock bottom. The ways we are finding to lose combined with the style in which we go about finding those ways is horrendous. Coming out unprepared each and every week with players and coaches now looking like they just come in to punch the clock and get paid. We obviously, know "everyone wants to win," but some don't know how, and they don't have the drive to figure out how.

Deflating. Depressing. Disappointing. Unacceptable. I am, always have been, and always will be a Panthers fan. It runs in my blood. I couldn't shake it if I tried, and I won't... But, I have never felt this low as a Panthers fan. I don't know where we go from here. So many questions, and no answers.

This is Fiz. If you look at each season individually, again, the expectations weren't that high that year. It was still heartbreaking to lose as many as we did in the last few minutes of games the way we did in 2001, but expectations weren't as high.

But, I'm looking at this in a macro-view. I'm taking 2001, 2010 all into account. I'm taking 1997, 2004, 2006, 2009, and now this year into account. When you take it all in and view it cumulatively, this is the bottom. It feels like we can't get out of our own way.

Don't want to get dragged into the suicide pact. Not directed at you Prouddiddy, just in general.

No offense taken.

I know this thread can come off as emo, but it isn't my intention. Just trying to express my feelings as a true fan, from the heart... Without all of the pretentiousness.

There's a lot of misinformed, under-thought posts popping up at this point, most of which I ignore... Just needed to get this off of my chest.

What's weird is, I still hate losing, but for some reason, I'm starting to feel numb. I don't want to accept losing, but I'm starting to realize until the culture changes, I do have to expect this from my team... Sadly.

Yeah, Diddy is right. I have also been through the ups and downs with this team. Also, you were right on the expectations we all had decent-good expectations of this team. Instead, we are 1-4 and the seasons basically over. It's sad, ridiculous, and pathetic. I will be a Panthers fan till I die it just makes me sad.

      I feel the same way. Bryce hasn't proven himself to be so good that he would clearly lap anyone that we'd bring in the compete for the starting job. I think the team is actually afraid to do that. If Bryce goes down does anyone think Kenny Pickett is solid option to replace him?. We can control him for 2026 and 2027. The problem is 2028. Unless he takes a massive leap forward ability wise, I don't see how Carolina can justify paying B.Y. $50 million a year. So far, Bryce has not shown that he can CONSISTENTLY carry a team. He needs to be carried by a strong offensive line, running game, pass catchers and a respectable defense. If he's lacking any of those things I don't think we can make the playoffs in 2026/2027 unless the NFC South is as bad (or worse) than 2025. Unfortunately, athletes and agents have EGOs! When he has a chance for a 2nd contract his management team will probably insist on a "market deal" and feel insulted if they don't get one. That leaves a couple of options if his play hasn't significantly improved. 1) Let him walk and test the market. 2) Franchise him for the 2028 season if you're still not sure about what to do. 3) Extend him to a team friendly deal that pays him below the "current market" which would allow the team to continue to build a solid team to support him. 4) Over pay him and pretty much ruin any chance of becoming a consistent contender. The last option is the LEAST DESIRABLE ONE. The 2026 season is a pivotal season for Bryce and the Carolina Panthers. The success of the next 5-7 years could ultimately be decided on how well plays the next 2 seasons.

      Drake Maye ended up putting almost 300 on them lol. Bryce was stunned from the beginning to end. I know that's an easy comp for the Bryce truthers but no one else put up those puny QB stats against them all season long.
