What worked for Newton last year, loosening defenses up with his rare running ability, and then hitting them with big plays in the passing game when they cheat toward the line on run defense, isn't working this year. The weekly chess game is being won by the other guys, and Newton's abundant confidence is suffering for it.

I am nowhere near ready to put Cam in the same category as VY. That's so benevolent of you. However, there ARE some things in Cam's performance and behavior that are concerning:

1. He has NOT been able to deliver late in the game when it is on the line. Neither has the rest of your team. Why not call them out.

2. He does sulk on the sideline when things don't go his way.So does every QB. Don't see why his sulking should bother so many? Especially when other QBs aren't being srutinized to such extremes.

3. He did shun his team mates who went to celebrate with him in Atlanta, so that he could do his own little dance. And is that a fact or is that what another let's see what ish we can read into Cam's celebration because we're pissed our team loss and we find it easy to pile on our QB. I can bet you dollars to donuts if the media wasn't sitting there scrutinizing Cam many of you wouldn't be doing the same. Clearly says a lot about how some hide their true colors hide what others are doing.

4. Chud is running a college read-option offense rather than an NFL style offense. And you know that because? Or is this another attempt at acting like you're not getting all of your talking points against Cam from the media?

5. Cam's mechanics seem to be worse than last season...he is very slow through his progressions. How about the mechanics of the rest of the team? Oh yes, I keep forgetting. Having Cam on the team keeps your eyes off the rest of the team.

All of these things can be worked on and improved....but we wil lhave to see if they will. Maybe if you take off your extremely indenial glasses the improvement will begin.

I bet you any amount of money that if you got angry at players like Steve and call out the Captains and VETS of this team to step up and guide this team, you will see a different team. But nope.. You're afraid. Instead you rather sit and act all anal over everything your QB does because the media is doing it. And you got the nerve to question every move Cam makes?

We did it most of the time last season and looked tons better than now. Even when we went to it late in the game Sunday, we started to move the ball.

If Cam is the real deal, he will flourish and lead us to great things. If he doesn't then we move on. But, at least that way we have the right answer. Now, all we have is a gimmick offense when gimmick offenses NEVER have any long term success in this league.

IMO he's 23, and I think he should get at least the next 3 seasons AFTER 2012 here to see what happens....

Oh yeah my good friend e-mailed Gary Williams of WFNZ shortly before he left for NY and basically said something like: Hey Williams what don't you have another drink you unfunny drunk. Good riddance to New York.

He got an unpleasant response from him back a couple days later. He called my friend an idiot because he forgot to put an apostrophe or something on a word and seemed genuinely offended that he mentioned his drinking issues.

The difference between Cam and Vince will always be what is above the neck.

Both are phenomenal athletes with legendary college careers.

Both have prototypical size and arm strength

The difference is that Cam actually works at his craft and believes he will get better, where as Vince Young believed his problems were everyone else's fault, or he didn't work to fix his issues. Cam has the tools, the smarts, and the drive to be better than that.

Vince Young = headcase with no personal drive to succeed

Cam Newton = over-critical athlete with the work ethic to do what is necessary
