What if Cam was Matt Ryan

CRA

Seattle 12-29 141 no Td's no int's. for the season had thrown more int's than Td's. 4TD's 5INT's. So on an average thru 5 games thats less tahn 1 Td per game. Am i saying those losses are all Cams fault no. But is cam part of the team and deserves some of the blame yes. And is Cam himself saying the same thing "YES". So yes i agree with Cam hes not playing up to his potential. If you want to water it down and make excuses thats up to you. Defense isnt playing up to there potential either. Same thing for the O-line and the Rb's hell and the Wr's for that matter. But unlike you i lump Cam in with the losses not exclude him from the team and go its ok Cam your only part of the team when we win. week 4 15/24 215 yards 2td's 9 rushes 86 yards 1 td on the ground. 119.3 QBR oh yeah and 1 fumble win the game was iced. I like how you left that fact out of all your stats. And if you dont believe me go to Panthers.com and listen to any of Cams interviews and he will tell you! This team was saying before the season started playoffs playoffs playoffs. This isnt a playoff "TEAM" and im not sure if your aware of this or not Cam is on this "TEAM". So not playing up to his potential along with the rest of the "TEAM"

I think you fail to understand the criticisms of Cam. The fans and the media WANT cam to do what Ryan is doing. Screaming in anger of losing is a positive sign. Sitting with a towel over your head alone does not look like leadership.

Nobody cares that he's black except for some Panthers fans who are insecure now that their QB isn't quite as good as they imagined.

the fact of the matter is that the Panthers problems are more complex than Cam Newton putting a towel over his head on the sideline. We're not losing because he's sulking. Every QB sulks now and then. Every QB has cursed like a trucker after throwing an interception. But the Panthers aren't winning so obviously that's because Cam Newton isn't doing anything right, and the Falcons are undefeated so Matt Ryan could jackoff on the sideline and it would be considered an expression of a winner's attitude.

the qb takes the criticism and the praises of the team.

so to say if cam did this or that on the sidelines the results he wouldn't be treated like such and such is not true...if this team was winning games, no one would care what newton was doing on the sidelines.

guys like brady, manning, and rogers can throw fits and no one say a word because in the end they win. period.

I guess we will see....but I suspect the media will always be on Cam. Even when his team is winning when they have a chance to pounce.

Like I said, it isn't all a race issue. Only part. Cam also has something to do with it.

Team sport....

You want wins....QB needs a team that can win when he isn't perfect.

I certainly agree, and our losses have happened for a number of reason, qb play is only part of the equation. But, that is a two way street. Team needs a qb who does perform well when the game is on the line and the last two games, Cam hasn't performed when the game was on the line.

Shut the front door. I did the alf at this shyt. HA !

So then he could become the "typical angry black guy''? You know bible belt ass Carolina wouldn't go for that. The dumb ass owner even told the grown ass man not to get tattoos. Do you think he told Kerry Collins that shyt? Wake up.

So the logic is, if your team wins, you can act like a ish on the sideline.

FYI, These QBs aren't winning games by themselves. Their team-mates are STEPPING UP AND DOING THEIR PART. Not adding to the headache by throwing temper tantrums on the field and erasing the work the rest of your team-mates have alread put in, ala Steve Smith, or attacking their QB for not doing what he wants, ala the captian Steve Smith...

What a novel concept.

Isn't RG3 black? Media seems to be all over his dick and watch how they praise him after today.

Trying it make it a race thing is dumb. Nobody even talks about Ryan that much good or bad honestly. He's a boring subject in comparison to Cam, thats why Cam gets more exposure. When we lose it will be bad exposure, when we win it will be them praising him nonstop.

The media will not treat RG III the way they are with Cam because they know better. And, Cam fit the black player they could easily stereotype. Plus, they got their Great White QB going off the draft board first. RG was never really a threat for that position. Cam was the better QB in 2011 but the media simply didn't want to admit. They much rather convice you folks that Blaine was simply because he wasn't Cam.

Also, RG III didn't help a college team the media don't care much for, to it's first NC in 53 years while enduring endless lies about his father taking money for him. The media want to break Cam. They saw him winning as being way to cocky and confidence for them. As if he's not suppose to be proud of his accomplishments.

Be that as it may, the problem with this team is NO one and I mean NO one wants to deal with the real ptoblem of this team. The mindset of the team is wrong. Last season, the Rams sucked. What did they do, go out and re-group and fix their problem. Not sit and fix every little thing they found wrong with their QB. If anything Sam was hardly being blamed for the team's issues. So much for QB receiving all of the blame when the team isn't doing well.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
