What could we realistically get for Williams?

I think we could get more for Beason than Williams.

Running backs are easy to get. I mean look at Alfred Morris, Andre Brown. I mean they are easier to find than good MLB. I'd settle for a 3rd round pick for Beason.

I thought that nothing was guaranteed to D-Will after this year. Is the signing bonus the only thing we would be on the hook for? The Cards, Packers and/or Cinci might make sense also.

Yeah, but that's $9.6 million.

Signing bonuses are prorated through out the life of a contract, so he no longer has a guaranteed contract, we still feel the cap hit from the bonus

Even with the terrible contracts many players are much more tradeable than people would believe. The huge signing bonus is already paid and the Panthers would have to deal with the cap hit regardless if that player is still with the team or not. This means, that if traded, the acquiring team wouldn't have to deal with a huge cap hit. They'd only have to pay the base salary, which in many cases is much more reasonable. The Panthers would effectively be paying a player to perform elsewhere, however.

Well, perhaps we can get a little back with the right deal. Personally, I don't think D-Will looks cooked. He still has a burst if you ask me. It's just that the option crap is miring all of our backs in quicksand as opposed to playing to their strengths. Just my opinion though.

DWill is a Panther and has never done anything except run hard when given the ball and been a good citizen.

Hurney is and was a fugging idiot. If I was Dwill I'd have signed that contract as well.

Assuming at one point we get game play calling that features our 2 headed running attack and Cam punishing opposing defenses off that in play action run DWill into the ground until it makes sense to release him or redo the contract our resident asshat handed him.

He'll never be traded.
