8-8 record and keep Rivera. Or 3-13 and get good draft position?

Which would you guys rather have? Personally I want to extreme makeover this team. Nomore lingering left overs of the Hurney era. If we go 8-8 all that would accomplish is our new GM tempted to keep the same coaching staff and a dramatic knock down the draft board and we still have no playoffs or no winning season.

Personally I want a top 3 or maybe even top 2 pick, Rivera gone and our new GM have a strong hand to deal in the draft for a potential blockbuster trade with a top 2 or top 3 pick so we can be on the fast track of rebuilding, St Louis Rams style.

If Hurney wasn't fired I would say 3-13, but now that he's gone, and changes are going to be made, I want my Panthers to win as many games as possible.

Bit isnt that how teams stay stuck, they keep having average 7-9 and 8-8 seasons and getting knocked out of the top 10 come draft time and it takes years to finally build this team. I want to rebuild Rams style, get the 2nd pick amd trade ot for a slew of picks and grab a lot of great players. You can tell the Rams are a season or two away from greatness. Thats the exact path I want to follow.

That's the same attitude that lost us Matt Kalil. B) Nah, I don't like to lose games, but in the long term, I'd rather suffer now and win for years to come. Yet when it comes to this current coaching staff, I want another one.

This isn't the NBA where you have to have multiple top 2 or 3 picks to field a winning team. I want to win and I want to win now. If Rivera can turn our season around from where it is right now and get us to 8-8 (which would be winning 7 of our final 10) then he deserves another year.

Losing for draft position is not how you build. Losing fosters losing. Winning is contagous. Usually.

Someone nut kick Chud and get this offense in gear. That will save our season, and the coaching staff.

Anyone that wants to start over is delirious. We are not that bad. It just takes time to get the losing atmosphere turned into a winning one.

Too many of those. "But I deserve a winning team" type fans. Not enough of the "We are so close" ones.

    • New season new teams. Everyone we face has improved their team as well. There's now a full season of tape on Canales's offense and Bryce running it. When they win 7 games I will become a believer.
    • I mean I think its a bit disingenuous to call basically anyone here a casual fan. I don't think the casual fan creates a profile then logs into it, in the offseason, to comments on mundane offseason topics.. I dont think anyone on here would be considered a casual fan. That said, I get your point. My POV is from the player. They sign this contract, move their family because of these contracts. When Clowney came him, we basically had a coming home party for him.  So yeah, I get why we did it and I know that ultimately the owner doesnt 'save' money, but I can feel for the human side of the player, which is why I want them to get all they can while they can.
    • My guess is the NBA will either send Flagg back “home” to the Northeast in Brooklyn or Washington, or San Antonio so that they can keep building around Wemby. If I was a betting man I would take the odds on the Spurs. This definitely feels like a #1 pick that they will rig.
