Jim Harbaugh will not be available. How about David Shaw ?

That Shaw will stay and try to win a NC with his up and coming star QB.

True, he also has Barry Sanders Jr. to work with. Yet I hope Jerry makes a push for him this off season. I know fans would probably prefer guys with NFL HC experience such as Bill Cowher, but I really like the younger guy in David Shaw.

This is a typical over-board reaction... sure Stanford held Oregon to 14 points, but keep in mind, Oregon's terrible defense held Stanford to just 17 points. If you want John Fox all over again, then you definitely want Shaw... I want change, something new, something conforms to the direction the NFL is going... Give me Kelly.

Shaw has been the head coach for two years at Stanford. You are not getting Ron Rivera here...This guy knows how to manage games and is a quarterback guru as well as a guy who believes in defense.

To be fair, this is what people said about Rivera. Except that he was a Defensive guru.

Shaw took a ragtag group, and won over Kelly's vaunted offensive attack. The score would have been bigger if it weren't for Stanford's fumbles. If Shaw can do that with that group, imagine what he could do with NFL talent. Yes, Shaw follows Fox's philosophy concerning having a strong run game, but Shaw also preaches great QB play. All you guys who wanted balance on offense, Shaw is the shining example of balance!

Chip Kelly would kill Cam's career, because he would never teach Cam how grow as a passer. He would only utilize his big arm and athletic ability. He wouldn't teach him the basics of footwork and anticipation of his throws. Now Shaw would teach Cam everything he needs to know, and we know Shaw loves athletic QBs as well. (He's worked with Luck and now Hogan) If anyone is going to help Cam become the golden standard of QB, that guy would be David Shaw.

I think that this team needs a complete turnaround in offensive philosophy. Best way to do that? Hire David Shaw and go back to what made us successful years ago. A strong power running game, smart and simple passes, and a strong defense. David Shaw is not exactly John Fox either. He actually believes in heavily utilizing his TE's and has a more balanced attack at Stanford than did Fox at Carolina.
