Nice Newton quote.

12 inches of separation is open with a solid QB throwing.

Like hell it is. Just because Aaron Rodgers can make those passes once or twice a game doesn't mean that is the kind of scheme you live on. Look at the Saints or Patriots offenses. They're designed on either isolating all-world talents like Graham and Gronk, or getting someone else like Welker or Sproles running in space. They don't attempt a hundred seam-splitting throws a game, that's a recipe for disaster. This offense doesn't have an overwhelming physical specimen and completely misuses its receivers in space. It should be a hard-running play action offense and the fact that its not shows how stupid the coaching staff is.

I know this may sound stupid, but perhaps that visor he wears with his helmet is slowing down his ability to read defenses. I mean, unless that visor is prescribed, why does he wear it in the first place? Afraid he is going to get poked in the eye? Seriously though, it actually could be impeding his progress as a passer.

Just to clarify, has the argument now shifted to 2nd year Cam doesn't make reads as quickly as 15 year pro/HOF lock Peyton Manning?

I don't think we are saying Cam should completely be on Manning's level. Yet getting the ball out within two-three seconds is basic stuff.

It was a miserable loss!!! Cam did his part , the special teams did their part, defense was streaky but they didn't get an help from the offense.. Miserable is a good word to describe this whole season! I'm Miserable they Miserable and you as Panthers fans are Miserable. Hell, it almost makes the Bobcats beating Dallas Miserable. If I wasn't so dam Miserable I'd be mad!!!

Oh well, tomorrows another day and when I think of this, it will be Miserable all over again. Hope they are too!!!!!!!

Most pro QBs say differently. 12 inches is open.

    • Bingo. The dude is a baller no doubt and I'd love to have him in a vacuum but like you said he's gonna fetch a haul so the only teams it really makes sense for are teams with an overall good roster who they feel an edge rusher like Crosby would out them over the top in terms of competing for SBs. I'd be looking st teams like the Pats, Bucs, Ravens, Seahawks, etc. It wouldn't be shocking to see him moved. He may be more valuable to a rebuilding team in the form of the draft assets he'd fetch than he is on the field. He should still have several more good years in the tank at 28 but by the time the Raiders can reasonably expect to rebuild he's gonna be on the decline.
    • Crosby will garner a haul in a trade. I would be reluctant to make that trade because of the following: 1. Our overall roster is awful. We cannot afford to be trading away valuable draft capital. 2. He isn't the best fit(IMO) for the scheme that Evero runs.  I love the player but it would really need to be at a reasonable deal and I think he is likely to garner an unreasonable price if he gets traded.
    • In terms of need, EDGE is currently #1. Our pass rush is near league worst levels. However, I don't subscribe to "need" based drafting. BPA all day.  We do need to dramatically upgrade over Scourton, Jones, Wonnum and Umanmielen. That is likely in the running for the NFL's worst two deep. Not saying all those players are bad, but I am saying 100% of those players are 2nd or 3rd stringers.
