New Fan in Michigan

Panther fans,

Not gonna beat around the bush, this year has been hard. Hard in the sense that we've consistently watched our team compete in most games, only to come up short. Offense has regressed, Cam is under defensive pressure throughout game, Chud is steadily drunk on sundays making crappy play calls, topped off by Bank of America being swamped by opposing team fans. Got it, it sucks. BUT....I have made a new Carolina Panther fan who always watches the game on Sunday at her house (my girlfriend). Even through all the crap this season has brought us, there are little highlights of excellence...such as expanding the fan base ;) Plus, I have my nephew following the Panthers and he's 5 years old. I've been following the panthers since I was 10 years old...I'm 26, it hasn't been easier this year (losing season) than in the past...but I still enjoy watching the games at the stadium/TV/espn gamecast it doesn't matter. Everybody, remember..this is our team, we need to support it. Otherwise, were no better than shitty bandwagon Pittsburgh fans etc. Anyway, I thought I'd share the whole new fan in Michigan thread, cause 80% of the threads I've seen on here has been about how this whole season has sucked, ridiculing everything from the starting players to the waterboy...thought I'd provide a different outlook.

Keep Pounding.

I like what you said, but I don't know any "shitty bandwagon Pittsburgh fans" of which you speak. Being honest, Steelers fans are some of the best in the nation. You will never mistake Heinz Field on game day for anything else but Steelers fans' heaven. If we could be so lucky.

Is this a joke? I've never heard so many Steeler fans with country accents in my life down here. I also see more Steelers sh!t than any other team's clothing here as well.

    • Former league executive and current NFL.com analyst Marc Ross recently named his top second-year breakout candidates for the upcoming campaign. Ross includes Legette, who may be helped out by his team's latest first-round selection. He writes: Legette had a slow start to his NFL career, catching 49 passes for 497 yards and four touchdowns last season. Some of the struggles can be tied to his own growing pains -- he had eight drops on 81 targets, according to Pro Football Focus -- but he had also had to navigate the quarterback shuffle between Bryce Young and Andy Dalton early in Dave Canales' first season leading the Panthers. Canales recently said he believes Carolina has a DK Metcalf-like talent in Legette, who had foot surgery this offseason but was cleared to resume work in early April, and that having a full offseason alongside Young, who took a significant step forward in 2024, could lead to a breakout result in 2025. I anticipate it will also help that Carolina invested another first-round pick in a wide receiver, Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan, to complement Legette in the pass game. McMillan's presence, however, could take some pressure off Legette—who may be able to roam around in a more natural playmaking role. With the 6-foot-4 All-American likely to take on the bulk of the volume from Young, Legette should have some cleaner shots to break out downfield and in the box score.     https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/06/panthers-wr-xaiver-legette-top-breakout-candidates-2025/83475176007/?taid=681a4610ede05d000149b376&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter
    • my understanding is a big time throw, could be a 5-10 yard slant to Adam Thielen given AT isn't going to separate.
