I think the man got emotional because of Davis's passion and it probably reminded him of his golden days as a linebacker. This has changed my view of Rivera and his level of 'care' for the game. Hope he continues to develop as a coach and maybe by the end of this season, see a new and improved Rivera?

NFL players check out on losing teams staffs all the time.

They play not to get hurt. Their pride is in their bank account with a lot of zeros.

Edit: I see what your getting at tho- there has been some flack after a couple of the games this year, the bears game and the "suggestion box" games come to mind, but it's been a frustrating year for everyone.
